Tight bass with oomph!
Roy D. - May 24, 2010
This sub rocks! It is more than plenty to fill your bass needs, both for music and movies. I have a 20x20 ft family room that opens to a 15x15 ft kitchen and you can feel the sub all over the place. And the volume is set at only 5 out of 20! My setup consist of 532's for fronts, surround and rear surrounds, 533 VAC center and the Bravus 10D. Tight bass for music yet rattles your walls with sound effects from your favorite movies. Highly recommended!
Very happy with the 10D

I have my dream system now, 6Ts, 5C, 6-ICs, and 10D. Overall I'm very happy with the build quality, service, and most of all the SOUND! My only gripe is that the 10D draws about 14Watts of wall power 24/7. I built a low power HTPC (home theater personal computer) that is the hub of all of my media, which automatically shuts down after a period of no activity to save energy consumption. I'd like the see Aperion incorporate that sort of feature into future powered subwoofers. Other than that small nit, I'm very happy and highly recommend the 10D.
awesome loud and tight bass

Just received bravus 10D. haven't even use my audyssey setup system yet on my denon avr 890(also have klipsch rf-82, center rc-52, surround quintet III) and it already sounds fantastic. be careful, don't set the volume too high..or your house may rattle down. sub looks awesome and great shiny black finish. just watched Blue Ray-transformer II "the fallen" just couldn't believe the amount of bass that came out from that movie. definately not going to theater anymore..i'll just wait til all movies come out to video and watch at home..you won't be disappointed

Room: 18x15, upstairs. System AVR Denon-3808, 5.1 setup, the Center Channel is the Aperion 6C and surround speakers x4. replaced the JBL 10" sub with an Aperion 10D sub and WOW what a difference and improvement.
Appearance: The size is small. The Aperion 10D has two 10" in the cabinet, that is real nice. Piano Black finish, very nice and as my wife stated "cute".
The menu screen and remote is nice. The Menu screen lights up when in use then goes dark/off when not in use, very nice. The AC power plug being detachable is fantastic.
Sound: Awesome, can go with the BIG BOOM or subtle boom and many settings in between. Can even change use type such as Movie, Game, Music, to go along with the dB settings, nice control on the Sub so tweeking is only done inside AVR.
Service: Web Chat is Great, answered all my questions and made me feel real comfortable about the purchase. Delivery was made and 10D was double boxed and inside a majestic pouch of comfort.
I have bought the Aperion 6C, 10D and just purchased the in wall 6-LCR x4. 3 words for you "I CANNOT WAIT" goosebumps even thinking about it.
Amazing - almost too much power - use the remote
Jeffery A. - August 04, 2009
I recently purchased a pair of 6-LCR's as well as a 5c center channel and Bravus 10D subwoofer. These speakers along with a pair of builder installed ceiling speakers were hooked up to an Onkyo TX-SR607.
The in wall installation was painless even for someone who avoids anything resembling a home improvement project. I'd recommend having a second set of hands available to make the wire attachments. Total time for 2 speakers - about 2-1/2 hours.
The Onkyo setup was self explanatory and it's initial room recommendations using the included microphone were in range though the bass was a bit high for me.
Once the Bravus 10D was turned down a bit using the included remote the sound was near perfect. I'd put the overall system on par with friends' custom installs costing in excess of $5k for home theatre. Music reproduction was more than good enough for me but true audiophiles may want to take the opportunity to add some insulation behind the in wall speakers and/or look at a tower speaker for better sound.
Fantastic!

I can't say much beyond what has already been said: This sub is awesome.
My initial attraction to Aperion speakers, honestly, was their appearance. I've chosen the cherry finish, and the finish is truly furniture quality (much better, in fact, that the furniture I happen to own). I'm not an audiophile, but I like to have a system that looks as good as it sounds. And Aperion products are pleasing to both the eyes and the ears. Seriously, these are beautiful products.
I started with the 10D's smaller sibling, the 8D. Truth be told, even the diminutive 8D probably packs more than enough punch for my room (about 2,700 cubic feet). But, being a man, naturally I couldn't resist going for a bit more omph. A part of me even considered going whole-hog and ordering the 12D.
It's a good thing I chose the 10D: judging from the rumble this bad boy delivers, I probably would have knocked down the walls of my house with the big brother of this subwoofer family. The 10D delivers more than enough power to shake the room. I don't just watch and listen to my movies now; I feel them.
Aperion's generous 30 day audition policy made it easy for me to try out the 8D and trade up to this 10D. This sub has joined my other Aperion products in a 5.1 system I've been gradually building. I couldn't be happier.
All Around Perfection

The title says it all.
SOUND: This sub is amazing. It's ability to integrate into the whole home theater system is just incredible. I have my Aperion 5T's and 533VAC set at an 80Hz crossover. The ability for this sub to sound like a speaker that happens to play low notes instead of just a sub making booming sounds is amazing. Thanks to its ability to play like a speaker and not a sub, it is basically impossible to recognize the sound as from the sub (Yes, I know the crossover plays into this, but...).
SIZE: This sub is absolutely tiny for what it is. I would bet this dual 10" woofer sub is about half the volume of the single 10" sub at my parents house. And of course, the sound of the 10D blows away that of the much larger sub. Like all of the Aperion speakers, the wood finish is gorgeous. It has wonderfully rounded edges.
OTHER: Admittedly I haven't done too much with the plethora of adjustments that you can do with the built in electronics of the sub, but they are useful. If you try (and with some Aperion Guru help) you will get this sub playing exactly how you want it.
Overall, this is one small sub that can kick some butt (or at least shake it a bit) with style.
Fix your frames firmly on your walls...

...Or they will fall ! Need I say more ?
Great for movies ! I don't go to the theaters anymore, my sound is much better !

good things, small packages
Andrew M. - May 05, 2008
This sub has surprised me many times over. When it arrived I was surprised at how small it was. When I hooked it up and put my test CD in, it surprised me with its range and volume. Now after a few weeks of listening to music, watching movies, and playing video games it still surprises me with how it can fill a large room (26' X 19') with the bass I want. Good things can definitely come in small packages.
Look out because here comes the "BOOM!"
Brian M. - April 30, 2008
All I can say is wow to this subwoofer. Straight out of the box, this sub is beautiful. I mean gorgeous. If I can get the approval from my very critical girlfriend, it must look pretty good. The real wood finish is amazing and the grills for the sub make it look so classy. Aperion, very nice!
Next, this sub is small and that is one of the main reasons I made the purchase. I did not want an extra "End Table" at the front of the soundstage just as an eye sore. This sub is compact and tight!
The LCD screen is basically a nice to have, but once I have the system calibrated, I really never touch it again. But it definitely does class it up a notch.
Finally, the PERFORMANCE. WOW! I always need to consider turning the output down so I don't get a fine for breaking a noise ordinance. The initial settings were high and after my initial setup and test, I realized I was going to shake the hell out of my apartment building.
All in all, this is a beautiful subwoofer that is extremely compact and can definitely handle most performance applications.
I love it!
Outstanding Bass
Justin S. - April 30, 2008
I recently upgraded my entertainment center with new 1080 LCD, hd sat receiver, new onkyo receiver and a set of speakers from aperion. I had never heard of them until I read glowing reviews on CNet. After 3 months of enjoying my new system, I don't know how I managed with my old set up. Best part of my new set up is probably the phenomenal picture of the sony bravia xbr4 LCD, but...a very close second is the bass coming from my new Bravus 10" Sub. I first ordered the powered 533 towers with built in 8" subs. Sound was good, but not great. I returned the 533's (super easy and they even pay for return shipping) and instead exchanged them for the 633 towers and this Bravus 10" Sub. Now I couldn't be happier. Superb sound and the bass can rattle the walls if I choose. I topped the system off with a couple of dipole/bipole surround speakers in the back and I now have the best setup of anyone I know. None of my friend's system even holds a candle to my system. Not trying to brag, but it sure is nice when the boys come over to watch a game and are blown away.
I highly recommend this sub and all the other aperion pieces i have purchased. Top notch customer service as well (which is so rare these days). Keep it up Aperion.
Boom Boom Boom...look out, the dinasaurs are coming!
Joe T. - April 30, 2008
Great sub! Jack it up and you get as much "boom" as you'd ever want. Set the crossovers correctly and you get a very nice bass that complements the other Aperion speakers. The first time I used this sub I knew I was hooked - I watched Jurassic Park - remember the dinosaurs walking around? Well, they were in my family room! The size is also great, it hides easily.
Bravus 10 D Dual 10" Powered Subwoofer
Barry T. - April 29, 2008
I have been listening to the Bravus Subwoofer for a little over two weeks and am extremely pleased. I am listening to them with the 6 T Tower Speakers and 6 C Center Speaker and the subwoofer more than holds its own. It is was far better than a REL T-3 subwoofer that I used for contrast. Its remote control and ability to effortlessly vibrate my floor without any distortions enhanced both films and music listening quite a bit. It allowed me to go inside of the instruments rather than just be an audience.
5.1 Intimus system
Trevor F. - April 28, 2008
I recently purchased the 5.1 Intimus Harmony system. I first had the sub sitting on a flat wall on the side of the room. I wasn't pleased with the sound...did a little research here and found that up front was the ideal location. I didn't want to put it up front but when I did...HOLY COW what a difference. The remote is awesome. Some TV shows have more bass, some movies need more bass. It's very functional and almost too much for my medium to small room. The craftsmanship is spot on and what can I say, it came in a Velvet bag!
Extremely pleased with the Bravus 10D
Michael C. - April 25, 2008
While not a true audiophile I appreciate being able to enjoy good music and a quality soundtrack on a film. I purchased the Bravus 10D in February 2008 to replace a rather tired Polk RM6500 subwoofer, well probably more of a sub-par woofer.
I first looked at Aperion, then Axiom, followed by Mirage, SVS, Hsu, and Velodyne for my living room-based home theatre. After reading through many, many posts on the AVS forums I decided that I was not a dedicated "base head" who required an 18" subwoofer capable of rearranging the furniture in my house. In addition, I needed a product that would blend nicely without standing out through sheer size. Consequently my search collapsed down to the Hsu VTF1 and then on a whim I came back to Aperion's web site and discovered the new Bravus line. At that point I was sold - it has looks, small size, good output, and it
really adds to both music and film.
The LCD screen and remote are a nice touch that with the black finish disappear from view. The depth of sound and physical presence when playing scenes from films such as "Live Free
or Die Hard" is very impressive. I began working back through my music and film collection just to see how much different the Bravus was to the Polk and what I may have been missing.
I was honestly amazed - on the "Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars" DVD I was not expecting much, but the opening spaceship battle scene had some thunderous bass in it that I had never heard (or felt) before getting the Bravus.
I am exceptionally pleased with my purchase and with Aperion's customer service and really appreciate the ability to return the unit after 30 days if not satisfied. This was a big selling point for me though I am happy to note that I am keeping my Bravus subwoofer and looking to add some surrounds later on.
Great Sub
Phillip K. - April 25, 2008
Bought my new Bravus 10D sub several months ago. The sound quality is incredible, it fills the room with clear, precise bass tones. It's small and very powerful.....great for any size room. I would recommend this product to anyone!
