You can do it if I can do it!

I have bought a big Sony 3d LED TV earlier this year and I wanted to match it with a nice system. I have a living room that has hardwood floor and I do not want any holes on my walls nor wiring laying all over my floor. I ran into one of the web review that Aperion has a product that I am looking for. The pre-release review received very high marks. I have tried their 2+1 system and I did not like it and the nice customer service rep introduced me to the Intimus 4T summit Wireless 5.1 system. I was very excited but I might need to wait for a few months. I had decided to place the order and wait. I ended up waited for more than 7 months.
I finally got the system in Oct. and was very excited! Remember this is my first ever sound system ............... it took me less than one hour to put them together. It was that simple! I am till trying to learn the tweak the system but I am very happy now. One comment is the mini metal disk underneath the tower speaker is not too user friendly. I have a hard time to fit all at once. I ended up took them out and let the pointed end to sit on the hardwood floor. I just have to remember not to push the speakers since it will scratch the floor.
I am ready to purchase more good quality CD and DVD to utilize my setup!!
Great product and great customer service!!
Thanks!
Great speakers, easy to setup, needs some tweaking

I had been searching for a wireless surround sound speaker option, as my room was not easily amenable to running speaker wires to the surrounds. I was very excited about the Intimus 4T Summit Wireless - great sound quality and additionally no need for a receiver, just the small transmitter. There was a bit of a delay while certification issues were sorted out, but Aperion graciously offered to ship the Beta version early so I would not have to wait longer.
The speakers were packaged extremely well, and the fit & finish is superb. Setup was very easy - the manual and the YouTube video made it a piece of cake. After the speaker placement was mapped, I ran the MyZone optimization and tried out a BluRay disc. Was initially not pleased with the sound levels - the surrounds were very muted and there wasn't much bass from the subwoofer. However, I was able to go into the transmitter menu and adjust the outputs up for the surrounds and the subwoofer. I am now pleased with the balance and the sound is great.
There have been two small issues that I hope can be fixed with the final version of the firmware. First, the transmitter box has locked up a few times, where the picture is transmitted through to the TV but there is no sound coming from the speakers and the box does not respond to commands from the remote. Pulling the power cord and "rebooting" solves the problem. Second, when we had a power outage, the box lost the speaker mapping and required re-mapping upon restart. Would be preferable to have the mapping stored more securely - as once the speakers are mapped they are seldom going to change location, and it is simple for the user to go into the menu and request re-mapping (for example if the room is rearranged or additional surrounds are purchased).
All in all, I am happy with the speakers. The sound quality is great and there are no latency issues. Setup was a breeze, and I am very glad not to have had to do serious damage to the room to install speaker wire (or go without surrounds). Additionally, as I did not already have a receiver, the overall cost for upgrading to 5.1 sound was very competitive.
Thumbs up

First I'll say the 30 day home audition was definitely a good idea, set up as you've probably seen from their videos is a breeze, that said, I frequently have to do factory resets to get all the speakers to map correctly. None of the documentation that I've read goes over the menus particularly well but over the month I was able to figure them out. I'll give you a hint, start playing with the "SUR" menu early, it sets the speakers to different modes. The tone test menu available off of the menu button on the remote is great for verifying that all the speakers are mapped correctly, and the the factory reset is off of the advanced menu off of the menu button. The remap menu doesn't seem to work too well and turning it off and on again as the preamp will suggest rarely helps. Curiously sometimes the pre-amp will tell you to remove objects from around the speakers and turn it off and on again even if the speakers have mapped correctly sometimes. Lastly occasionally the pre-amp stops responding to the remote at all sometimes and must be unplugged to get it to work again, this may be a problem with my television source which is an at&t U-verse cisco box, the problem seems to be showing up when I switch to that input. The att HDMI out could not drive the pre-amp and I had to use the optical output from it to the preamp. So you can see it is not without issues and the 30 days were definitely a good idea. The first Dvd I played through it sold me though. Sound quality is superb, bass is deafening, you may want to dial that back a bit, especially if you live in close proximity to neighbors. The surrounds fulfill their role effortlessly, they could handle much more than a typical movie throws at them. Love the lack of cables, appeals to my sense of order. Finish is shiny piano black, looks nice with my stuff. Music sound stage is excellent, pretty much as I expected from the pro reviews I had read. I guess my advise is, don't go into this thinking its going to be as easy as the video, but the end result is quite nice if you can sort it out.
Great speakers

This is another great product from Aperion. It was simple to set up, and everything worked on the first try! The speaker sound and look great of course, and I love being able to change the "sweet spot" with a press of the button on the remote. Customer service was terrific when I asked them about where to find brackets to hang the side speakers and about how to get the sound from my Mac to the speakers (HDMI doesn't work for audio, but an optical cable for the audio along with HDMI for the video does the trick!). All in all, I'm completely pleased with my purchase.
very satisfying experience

I am quite a novice with regard to Home Theater Systems, but we only recently got our first plasma TV and thought we should complement it with the appropriate sound component. Although technically challenged, it really was not very hard to get the system up and running, thought admittedly, I did have some help. The sound is quite beautiful and really adds to the movie experience. But I also wanted decent speakers to occasionally simply listen to music. The speakers are more than decent and the acoustic experience is very satisfying, especially for the price. The sound seems balanced, warm, yet distinct and clear. I can definitely recommend the 4T Summit Wireless 5.1 system and also highly valued the informed and honest information offered by the Aperion staff. Very nice package!
Great sound after some problems
Brad B. - October 26, 2011
This system has been in my home for a few weeks, during that time there have been two potentially showstopping problems. However, being that I'm an engineer by trade, I didn't give up and now I have a system that I am happy with. Here's what happened:
The day the system arrived, I was ecstatic. I had been waiting for months and let me tell you, unboxing these beauties is an experience unto itself. With everything hooked up, I popped in a Blu-ray, then the first problem started. About once per minute, the sound and picture would cut out. No sound, black screen, for about 5 seconds. Perfect for about a minute, then repeat. I was horrified.
First idea, since the Blu-ray feed was running through the Aperion transmitter (the receiver) included in this system, I thought maybe that was introducing the issue. I changed it so the Blu-ray HDMI went to the TV, then a digital optical went TV to transmitter. Same issue, how could the picture be blacking out? It never did before these speakers were involved. I disconnected the digital optical cable, issue continued. I disconnected all the speakers from power, issue stopped.
Second idea, every object in this system has to be plugged in, that's 7 power outlets, and I already use about 10 outlets with the rest of my entertainment system. I thought maybe the power draw was affecting the TV. I ordered a $500 Panamax power conditioner from Amazon and waited two days for delivery. Connected everything just so, issue continued. I now haven't been able to enjoy these speakers for 3-4 days... then I stumbled upon a solution. It seems the TV needs to be plugged into power last, after everything else is connected. I don't understand how that resolved it, but the power conditioner wasn't necessary so I returned it.
For the following week, the system worked beautifully. I'm not an expert on sound so I can't precisely word how they sound, but I loved them. Then the second problem started. One day I turn on the system and it can't find any of the speakers. They haven't moved and nothing new is in the room to interfere with the signal. I'll spare you the details of what I tried, but in the end, nothing worked except calling Aperion and having them send out a replacement transmitter. I have now received said transmitter and am back in business.
So why am I still happy after these problems? The first problem I can't blame on Aperion, just weird electronic shenanigans. The second problem was resolved in a timely manner by Aperion customer service. If you're in the market for a new system, I recommend you only go with this system if your room absolutely demands wireless.
1st review and follow up

Just recieved my system 2 days ago and setting it up was a breeze especially that I have no experience doing anything like that. So far the system has been cutting in and out from time to time I'm gonna be using it for a couple of weeks to see if that continues if it does, I will be returning it. The cutting out only last for a second or two but its not something I would be willing to live with. That being said I hope it doesn't continue because I love everything else about the system the sound is amazing even if it wasn't wireless and the simplicity of the whole thing is perfect for me I'm not one who wants to be dealing with EQ's and all the different zones and stuff. So I will be checking back in a few weeks to give my final review.
Well here is my 2nd review and I'm happy to say the cutting in and out is no longer a problem, though I did have it freeze up a couple of times so I pulled the power cord and it worked fine, through the few problems I have had the company had been there to help or to replace anything that has gone wrong which for while nothing has.I'm completely satisfied with the system as with aperion themselves . The appearance of the system is also beautiful looks great setup to my new 60" TV, I believe the reason I experienced a few problems is that I wanted the system ASAP and wasn't willing to wait as they finished up the beta version . So anyone who is looking for a wireless system that sounds amazing look no further... this thing sounds amazing and you can't beat a company that's willing to stand by their stuff and take care of their customers. Any speakers and things I need will be purchased through Aperion from now on. Charles Syosset N.Y

Full Disclosure: I work for Aperion Audio, and had the opportunity to test out a pre-production sample of the Intimus 4T Summit system in my home for about a week. Granted, I am obviously a bit biased considering that Aperion butters my bread, but I wanted to let people know a bit about my experience since I'm one of the few who has actually used this wireless system in their home!
Setup was incredibly simple - it took me less than 30 minutes to set up the entire system, and that included unboxing the speakers. I've set up countless home theater configurations over the years, and this was by far the fastest I've ever experienced. I installed them in a bedroom that would require snaking wires across the room or drilling into the walls to install rear surrounds. The step that took me the longest was finding enough HDMI cables to hook up all my sources.
I have to admit I was initially skeptical and was expecting a lag in the speakers, especially with dialog - but there was no perceptible lag whatsoever. Plus, having the amplification at each speaker instead of coming from a single receiver is a big plus - you can drive them at high volume and I never experienced any distortion. Everything sounded great, and I actually thought they sounded better than the wired versions of these speakers.
The only down-side I could find was occasionally the transmitter box had trouble switching my video sources, but after playing around with it for a while everything was fine. But that's the only minor problem I had in the week I spent with these.
I was very sad to have to bring them back to Aperion, I'd grown accustomed to having them running in my room!
