Small Room System Delivers Big

Comments:	I was stuck between room sizes, and limited by budget. After much delberation, I opted for the Intimus 4B-BP Fusion SA system and hoped I would not be pining for a larger system. My room measures 11'8" X 17'. The front speakers are spread at 9' and the surround speakers are just 13' away from the front speakers. I am powering the system with a Denon AVR-889. I was worried that the subwoofer and center speaker would be undersized for the room. My worries were soon put to rest! The compact Bravus 8A drives out tight bass that fills the room with thundering effects when watching movies and pumps out the bass line of any music track with effortless aplomb, while the Intimus 4C center speaker provides clean crisp dialogue for movies and scintillating mids for my music. The front and surround speakers keep pace with the center and sub, providing detail I did not, heretofore, know existed in movie or music sound tracks. I am well pleased, to say the least, ecstatic more like. This system delivers as promised, and more.

Comments:	The 4BP is a component of the Intimus 4B-BP Fusion SA system. “Whether you like your surround speakers in monopolar, bipolar, or dipolar flavor, there's no disputing the fact that you need real surround channels to get the full theater effect. The problem is that they need space in your room, and if you opt for something other than a monopole, they tend to get creep towards "eyesore" territory. Internet retailer Aperion Audio has dished up its 4BP bipolar surrounds for just such cases -- measuring only 5x12.5x5.8-inches, it's about as small as you'll get for a bipolar design, and Aperion crammed a pair of 1-inch silk tweeters and a 4-inch mid/woof into the small breadbox of a speaker. Pity it couldn't fit a bipole/dipole switch in there, but at $199 each and good-looking to boot, it's hard to complain.
