Since you brought up the 4bp surrounds, what crossover would be used for these small 4inch drivers when used in a home theater system? Would it be better to get a pair of Intimus 5B Bookshelfs with their 5 inch drivers and use them as surrounds?
I see you are out of 5bs until the middle of next month, but the question still stands as asked in my previous post here. Which would be better as surrounds, 5bs or 4bps? and what crossovers would one use for these? I have the 5t and 5c as fronts.
If you have limited space and are looking to fill the back of the room with surround effects, the 4BP is a better fit due to the design. It’s a smaller cabinet so you’d cross those over at about 110Hz. If you have the space for the 5B and need a bit more bass extension from the surrounds go that route and crossover at 80Hz. Also, if you listen to more concert DVD or multichannel music, the 5B is a better choice as they are more directional and precise, being a direct radiating design.
Thank you young man! Haven’t decided yet. Even entertaining the thought about going with a pair of 4t as surrounds only because I am not sure I want to wait until next month for the 5bs. Just a thought for now though. By the way, I do have dual SVS subs which is why I asked where the crossover would be for each type speaker.
