I just bought some 6Bs, but have not tried them out yet because I'm out of town until the 21st of August.  :(  But in the meantime, I'm looking for stands for them.  I have stands currently holding my old bookshelves I'm using for the rears in my 7.1 setup, but I think that the 6Bs are much bigger and heavier than those ones are and may not be sufficient.  I need to find some stands that will be 32-34" in height to reach over my sofa.  While I like aesthetics, I'd like to keep the pair of stands to around $100 if possible.  I have checked out standsandmounts.com but want to get some opinion which ones would hold the 6Bs properly without any chance of them falling over.  Thanks for your help ahead of time.  Here is the link for standsandmounts.com for greater than 30in stands:

    http://www.standsandmounts.com/30-44speakerstands.aspx

Edit:  I found these stands which fit my price range and height requirements somewhat, but it says for speakers up to 25lbs which is 1 less lbs than the 6Bs.  I'm sure that's probably not a big deal, but the top plate is 6"x6".  Is that sufficient?

    Hello Jon,

You can use those stands with the 6B, but a 6'X6' top plate is kind of small.

Check out these, they have a slightly larger plate:

Thanks Jason.  What would you say is the minimum size top plate for the 6B?

I would say that 6'X6" is the smallest top plate that I would recommend.

Ok.  Is there anything to fasten the speaker to the stand?  I mean like a camera has with a tripod or will it just sit on top?

The 6Bs have an insert on the bottom, but I do not believe either of those stands have a security screw included.

However, attaching the speaker to the stand isn't going to do a whole lot of good anyway since the speaker is so heavy it would likely take the stand down with it if it were knocked hard enough.
