I’m setting up a new Denon AVR-1613 using the Audyssey setup kit provided.  I have a set of Intimus L/C/R + S10 subwoofer.  Setup is failing to recognize the subwoofer, despite multiple tries with the level at 50% as recommended, plus various settings of the crossover and phase.  Any tips on how to proceed?

There’s a possibility that something is wrong with the S10 itself (it’s 7 years old), could someone recommend a good way to test it?

    Hello Sumit,

Sorry to hear about the trouble with the sub. In this situation it’s a good idea to connect a source directly to the sub just to make absolutely sure that the problem doesn’t lie with the receiver. If you have an ipod with a 1/8″ to RCA cord or a CD/DVD player that you can hook up directly to the sub inputs via red and white RCA cables that will let us know if the problem is indeed the subwoofer. If the sub produces no sound with a source connected directly to it, then we can be fairly certain that something is wrong with the sub itself. If it does produce sound then there is either a problem with the receiver, or more likely a receiver setting and if you give us a call we can help you troubleshoot the receiver.

If is does seem like there is an issue with the sub please give us a call at 888-880-8992 so we can discuss the available solutions, thanks!
