I have the Verus Forte speakers (the two towers, center channel and two satellites) and I’m trying to decide whether or not I need a subwoofer. My living room area is around 15 square feet in size. Would I benefit at all from adding a subwoofer?

Now that I think about it, my living room is quite open which might make a difference with what subwoofer I should get…

The area where my speakers are set up is around 15 feet, but the room as a whole is a lot bigger. Probably more like 15 x 24 with a 20 foot ceiling at its highest.

I was researching which sub to get and this one looks to have the best reviews:

I don’t want to go overboard with the bass if I don’t need to. Any ideas?

    Hello Jacob,

Thanks for checking in with us. For home theater most folks are going to want to run a subwoofer with the Verus Fortes.

You are correct that we need to consider the total room area when choosing a subwoofer since sound will travel freely throughout the whole space. It actually has more consequence for a sub because the long wavelengths that a sub produces travel further than the shorter wavelengths that are produced from your other speakers.

I don’t have any first hand experience with that BIC sub, but if you wanted to get one of ours, I would recommend the Bravus II 10D.

I hope that helps but please let me know if you have any other questions, thanks!
