    Hello there,

My father is a carpenter so I'm having him make me some speaker stands for my 4B's.  How / where can I find the screw kit – i.e. the screw itself and whatever receiver needs to be inset into the stands – that will fit the 4B's.

    Thanks in advance!

If you are just looking for the screw to fit the insert on the bottom of the 4B it's a quarter inch screw with a 20 thread count.

If you need more than that feel free to give me a call, I usually have random speaker stand parts that I can sell you for a few bucks.

    Thanks!

    Jason,

Can you post a picture of the bottom of a 4B speaker?  I'm planning out my system and I'm looking at the Omnimount Gemini stand.  It has several different mounting brackets and I want to make sure one of them works with the 4B.

What wire gauge do you suggest for surround speakers.  Lengths will be approximately 30 and 45 feet of wire to the speaker locations.  I was considering 14ga.  Is that overkill?   The stand I'm looking at looks pretty thin, so I'm not sure if I can even run the thicker gauge wires in it yet.

It's not much to look at, just a 1/4 inch insert in the center of the bottom face of the speaker.  If you really need a picture I can try and find our camera and get a shot up here.

However I have assembled both the Gemini 1 and 2 stands before and do not believe either comes with attachments that will work with the 4B.

I do think this VTI stand that I recommended over on AVS would be a better choice than either Gemini stand.

As for the wire gauge, at 30-45 foot run, 14 AWG is what I would recommend.
