    Here is my setup:

    Harman Kardon AVR 230

    Oppo BDP-83 BR player

    633T fronts

    533 VAC

    522D surrounds

    S12 Sub

The Oppo is new replacing an old DVD player. I was also hoping to take out my Outlaw Audio ICBM bass management unit. I have the Oppo hooked up to the AVR using 6 channel analog because the AVR doesn't have HDMI (rendering bass management to the Oppo and not the AVR). The bass management in the Oppo has no crossover settings or a LFE+ setting so I need to either run the 633-T at large with no bass out of the sub or set at small and use the crossover on the S12. I am having trouble dialing in great bass without the ICBM attached. If I use the ICMB, how do I keep from confusing the crossover between the 2 (ICBM and S12)? I.E. is there a way to turn off this function on the S12?

    Hello Tony,

Yes, if you turn the crossover knob all the way up you will have effectively bypassed the sub's crossover and the ICMB crossover setting will be used.

    Jason,

I would be better off using the ICBM instead of the Oppo and S12 combo…is this correct?

If I use the ICBM, I would set the all speakers to large in the Oppo and than use the ICBM to set the 522Ds and VAC to 80 and the 633Ts to between 60-80. I would than turn the crossover on the S12 all the way up (not down) and use the LFE Mix knob on the ICBM to control how much low end to share between the S12 and 622T. Did I get that right or did I miss something?

    Thanks for the help :)

Yes the ICBM will give you more control over the crossover frequency than the Oppo so I would use it and you do want to set all the speakers to large in order to let the ICBM handle the crossovers.
