I’m looking for a pair of good stands for my Verus Forte satellites. I bought the Sanus EFSat stands as recommended by this site, but none of the brackets or plates really seem to fit well with the Forte speakers and it doesn’t feel sturdy at all. Has anybody had this problem? I’m kind of pissed that I spent 80 bucks on these things… Any suggestions?

    Hello Jacob,

Sorry to hear the Sanus stands aren’t doing it for you. As for the top plates, they come with a plate that is 4.75″X5″ and the Forte Satellites are 5″X5.7″ so they are pretty on the money in that respect in my opinion. As for the stability the issue is that the Fortes are fairly heavy at 6.5 lbs each.

The i29s that will sell are definitely more stable but they are lower than the Sanus stands at 29″ high. I think that’s fine for fronts, but for surround use you really want the speaker a bit higher at around 4-4.5 feet off the ground or so.

In any event if you are really unhappy with them just give us a call and you can send them back under the 30 day trial.

I hope that helps but please let me know if you have any other questions, thanks!

Well, the problem isn’t that the plates aren’t the right size so much as the placement of the screw hole on the underside of the Forte satellite. It’s right in the middle whereas the top plate screw hole is towards the back. So it’s impossible to attach it without the speaker hanging off one side which is leading to the stability problems.

I think if it was centered on the stand it would be a lot more stable. Plus it does say they can hold up to 10 lbs so I assumed 6.5 lbs would be no problem.

I dunno, maybe I’m putting it on wrong, but I feel like I’ve tried every configuration.

It comes with several options, but this top plate has the hole right in the center of the plate.

That’s the one you want to use as it will give you the most secure connection to the speaker.

    I hope that helps!
