    Update... pretty much done

Well, I felt like posting my living room as it is now, and then updated pics once everything arrives and is in place.  As a reference, the room is 13.5 feet deep and 16 feet wide.  The TV is a Sony 42" LCD projection display, model #KDF-E42A10.  Starting from the top right going clockwise: the XBOX 360 HD DVD player; XBOX 360 Arcade (my old 360 died a month ago right after the warranty expired, so since I already had a 120GB hard drive, I replaced it w/ the cheapest version); Directv HD-DVR; and the Nintendo Wii.  The television stand is about a month old: the Horizon N702 from StandoutDesigns.com.  Its solid maple w/ cinnamon finish, tinted glass doors, vented glass shelves, and active cooling system for both sides of the stand where the components occupy.  The virtual surround sound system currently in place is the Sharp SD-SP10.  The speaker system I ordered is the Intimus 4T Hybrid SD in Cherry.  I've received the 4B's, 4C, & 8D, w/ the 4T's set to arrive in late May.  I'm also waiting on the Onkyo TX-SR607 that I pre-ordered, which starts shipping this month. Please let me know what you think.  Also, the empty speaker stands to the left & right of the couch that will one day cradle their very own 4B's are the Gemini2's from Omnimount, and the mini fridge, which gets commissioned about one Saturday a month for UFC events, is from Kenmore.  Two remotes are used: Directv remote for the Directv box, and the XBOX 360 universal remote from Logitech for everything else.  Oh, and sorry for the lighting issues in the pictures... I'll try to figure it out for the next batch

Cool, thanks for posting.  If you are using Firefox, once the pictures are in Flickr you can right click them, copy the image location and then just paste that url right into your post using the insert/edit image button like this:

That must have been the problem.  I was using Safari, and certain buttons in the forum don't work, such as adding smilies...

    Update

Update:  So, the Onkyo TX-SR607 I pre-ordered should be arriving this week, which means I'll have a 3.1 system this weekend!  I'm still working on the speaker wires & banana plugs, and I need 1 more HDMI cable, but other than that, I should be good to go.  More pictures to follow.  Now, if only my 4T's were on their way...

Update! Middle stages of my setup

So, I have my Onkyo TX-SR607 hooked up, along with the 8D, 2 4B's, & a 4C.  The 4T's won't arrive 'til the end of the month, so until they do, the 4B's are pulling duty as fronts.  I didn't think the sound upgrade would be so drastic from the old setup, given that I only have a 3.1 setup right now, but I was pleasantly surprised.  Playing Gears of War 2 now is like a completely different experience!  I'm also happy at the drastic improvement in the dialog that the 4C provides.  You may be thinking "I wonder if a 6C would fit on that middle shelf?".  Now, granted it would fit perfectly (width clearance is 25.75"), I couldn't concoct a strong argument for the wife to go for.  Anyways, hopefully I'll have a picture or two to add once the 4T's arrive, and again when I decide on a Blu-Ray player, and by then maybe I'll figure out the lighting issues I keep having in the pics.  Comments & suggestions are always welcome.

From someone who just got his hands on some open box 4T's you are soon to be really happy!

    Cheers

    Pretty much done...

08-02-2009 Finally updated with the 4T's.  I believe I'm going to upgrade the 4C to the 5C, but will otherwise keep this setup intact. Room is still too small for a 7.1 setup.  Hopefully in the near future, I'll finally get a Blu-Ray player, perhaps the Oppo BDP-83, and a tv that won't look puny on the stand (hopefully the Panasonic TC-P58V10)...

Made a couple additions to the setup...

Made a few changes/additions to the setup.  My Logitech Harmony remote for XBOX 360 bit the dust, so I replaced it with the Harmony 900.  The 4C has been upgraded to a 5C.  Also, I've added an LG BX580 Blu-Ray player to the mix and my LG 60PX950 just showed up on Monday!!!  These are the last changes I can make until we move at the end of the year.  Hopefully our next place is a bit bigger so I can finish off my setup; basically I'd like to add 2 4BP's (space permitting to bring the system to 7 channels), acoustic panels, and reluctantly a newer A/V receiver (current one won't pass 3D, also could be stronger).  Pics to follow very soon...

Scratch that, I've moved to Hawaii!  I've got quite an undertaking on my hands to make the new family room ready for audio, mainly the combination of laminate flooring and a 17' ceiling; basically the room is shaped like a milk carton.  I'm starting a new thread with some pics and dimensions of the new room I'm putting together.  Hopefully I can get some input from the community to help make it awesome!
