    Need Advice on Room Configuration

Been reading about Aperion speakers on this site last couple of days and I think my long search for speakers is over.  Going to pull the trigger on these speakers.

We have a 10x12 room with a little twist to it as you can see in below floorplans and pics.  Trying to decide between two different packages - one with the 4T tower speakers and one with the 4B bookshelf speakers.  The 4Bs may make more sense with my room config but I would really love to get the towers if possible.  So, as you can see, if I went with the towers the LF tower is going to have to be in the corner behind the main door into the room.  Thus, the door will have to be closed in order to watch movies.  (Our primary entertainment mode is movies, tv, and xbox 360.  Very little music.)

I've posted floorplans with 4Bs vs. 4T setup.

Here are pics of the actual front wall so you can see what it really looks like:

In addition, you can see that we have a floor to ceiling cabinet right there which may partially block the LF tower sound field as well.  The floorplan shows the cabinet flush in the corner of the cutout but it's not in the pic.  That would be corrected by just moving away from the door and flush with the cutout corner about a foot and a half or so.

I'm not as concerned about the rears.  Planning on just putting those on stands in the location in the floorplans.  However, is where I have the sub a good location?

    Thanks for any help!!

Re: Need Advice on Room Configuration

Hello Kevin and welcome to the forum!

Honestly having to move the 4T into place every time you want to watch a movie sounds like a nightmare to me, but maybe I'm just lazy!

But really I don't think you necessarily need a tower in a small space like that for mostly movies/games since the center channel will be doing the heavy lifting.

However, if you think the 4Bs will be a little too small you could always go with the 5Bs, which I think may be just right for your fronts in your set up.  As long as you can give the 5Bs a 4-6 inches to the rear so the port isn't right up against the back wall.

I'm thinking something along of the lines of the 5B Fusion SD would be your "goldilocks" system, not too big and not too small.

Along with the 5Bs you'll get the larger 5C for your center, which is fully wall mountable, the 4Bs for your surrounds and then the Bravus 8D for your sub.  For your usage and size room I think it would be a great fit.

I hope that helps, but please let me know if you have other questions, thanks!

Sounds like a good compromise!  Only thing is the 4C center channel would fit into the space where my xbox currently is in my media stand.  However, it would be underneath the TV while I guess optimum placement would be above the tv.  Anyway, guess I'll have to sell the wife on that configuration.

Excellent, good luck with the wife persuasion and let me know if you have need any other help, thanks!
