    Need help configuring system

The system I have is an Onkyo 607, 2 5T's for the front, 5C, 10D, and 4B surrounds. I have read about the SPL meter but I still can not figure out how to use it. What db reading should it say for each speaker, how loud do you turn the volume up to test each speaker? Also, I have read some people say to use full band on the front's then some say set it to 70hz or 80hz. Is it best to use Audessy or turn the equalizer off? Everyone that comes to my house and watch the movie Transformers are blowed away how awesome my Aperion system sounds but I think I am not getting the full use out of my speakers.

    Aperion 5T's, 5C, 10D, 4B satellite's
    Onkyo TX-SR607
    Panasonic Plasma 58"
    Playstation 3 Blu-Ray
    Direct TV HD DVR

Hi David, glad you're enjoying your system. For the meter, it's not at all important where the db reading is as long as you adjust the individual speaker levels so they're the same db reading for all the speakers. Volume will be relatively unimportant as well; just get it loud enough so it registers something for the meter to read. Crossover is entirely up to you; try changing it and see if you like one way over another. Same thing with EQ, though most folks have reported better results without it.

    Hope this helps, happy listening!
