    Verus Grand Surround Speakers

Does Aperion Audio plan to make a Verus Grand surround speaker? I know they have the Verus surround, but it seems more geared to the Forte series then to the Grand series. Plus I am a little concerned that they only do 80hz at -6db.

    Hi Andrew,

I don't know of any plans for a Grand version of the Verus Surround speakers coming out.  They are our latest addition to the Verus family, and do the job quite well.  Yes they only get down to 80Hz at -6dB so let your sub do the hard work and use 80 Hz for all the crossover points.

I'll just add that the Verus Surround was specifically designed to work with both the Grand and Forte systems and does so quite well.

Also keep in mind that your typical 5.1 or 7.1 mix for a movie will not really have any content below 80 Hz in the surround channels.

    I hope that helps!

My concern with the 80hz is the -6db drop to get there. Will it produce enough sound at 80hz or am I going to need to set the crossover higher and push the sub over 80hz?

You can still hear frequencies at -6 dB pretty well, we have the Verus Surrounds crossed over at 80 Hz here and I don't hear any drop off in the bass from them.

However if you do get them I would recommend trying cross over points of both 80 and 100 Hz and see which sounds best to you.

Just ordered a pair of the Verus Surrounds, so I will be able to try them out and see how they handle. I will see what the Denon sets them at when I do the room correction with them.

     Thanks.

Great thanks for the order and let us know what you think of them!

    Re: Verus Grand Surround Speakers

Is there a way to use ceiling mounts on the Verus Grand Bookshelf speakers?

If so, which mount do you recommend to hold them?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jon

    Hello Jon,

Yes the omni ceiling mounts that we sell work great for the Verus Grand Bookshelves.

You can check them out here:
