A friend of mine told me when I get my system hooked up to watch Saving Private Ryan, he said the beginning of the show makes you feel like your right in the middle of the gunfire.

Indeed the sound editing in that movie, especially in the opening scene, is outstanding. 

Too bad it's not on Blu-Ray, and I don't believe there is even one in production.

Wanted. Yes Wanted. The movie I avoided for so long I finally watched it last night. Never thought I would bother seeing it, let alone like it so much. Great visual effects and sound. Overall very well done.The Aperion's LOVED this movie! My dog did not...hehehe. Oh and there is a nice treat in there for Hicks, I know he's a Jolie fan.

+1 on Wanted.  Really enjoyed that one.  Even more so on Blu-Ray. 

Dunno if anyone has brought up the new Star Trek, but it is AWESOME.  I've already seen it twice, and I don't like Star Trek.

 

Can't wait to own on BD.

Good Will Hunting - Great movie with decent drama

Peter Jackson's King Kong.

Great mix of sound from the dino fight, the insects scene, and the scene with Naomi Watts and the big ape on the ice for some more subtle use of the speakers.  Plus all the great visuals.

OK, after this last weekend and two loser movies I found a good one. "The Nugget" an Australian film made in 2002. Very entertaining comedy for the entire family.

Netflix will never run out of movies

Watched a film over the weekend, "Wanted" and I really enjoyed it.  It was a great movie for the Aperions, car chases, guns, explosions... and pretty cool special effects (similar to The Matrix in some ways).  Not a Hollywood classic but very well crafted with a good cast...  very fun and a great demo of the system. 

So far though THE best film from all aspects is Pan's Labyrinth.  It is beyond description.

"Wanted" was cool, loved the comic but wished they had stuck with the comic more closely.  Why can't the main lead remain a villain.

If you like the visual style in that movie, then you should check out the directors Russian films, Daywatch and Nightwatch. 

"Pan's Labyrinth" was amazing, love anything from Guillermo Del Toro.
