    Re: Surround Help!

Interesting call out.  I have heard some concerns from people about square rooms.  Once I get everything up and running I'll have to consider this.

My one problem is that this is a "bonus" room for the family and I'm not so sure how accepting my wife will be of acoustic panels covering the paint she picked out Wink

    Compromises!

Room treatment aside, the 4BPs make great rear surrounds and that's what I would vote for if you do decide to go 7.1.

They outperform the 4Bs in terms of surround effect even in a small room.

    Re: Surround Help!

Just wanted to post a quick note...ordered my speakers today!  Thank you all for your input!  I'm still going to look into the acoustical treatment options, but for now I did decide to pull the trigger on a 7.1 system.  I went with:

    L/R: 5T

    C: 5C

    Side: 5DB

    Rear: 4BP

    Sub: 10D

I've got an Onkyo 707 sitting in the box ready to be opened and a Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector waiting to hang from the ceiling.  Very excited!  The carpet is scheduled to be laid and final inspections are supposed to happen next Wednesday 12/23.  Should be rockin' soon thereafter.

I'm planning on swinging by Aperion to pick up my speakers on Thursday.  Can't wait!  Thanks!
