Yikes, I think PoliteNYC simultaneously totally missed my point and ripped me a new one (so much for the "polite" part of NYC) at the same time when he said:
"A value-based solution means using 'value-based' components, and from
what I gather, Aperion isn't going to put their stellar reputation in
the audiophile community on the line by putting out a product or
embracing a new technology (wireless), and then skimp on the quality of
the product."
Nowhere did I say or suggest skimping on quality. The word "value" may imply to PoliteNYC "skimp[ing] on the quality of the product," But I think that Aperion and myself think of value in a different way. Allow me to quote from the Aperion home page:
"All the quality at half the cost"
To me, that pretty much defines "value" in the context of this discussion. I'm as excited and interested in the full-on super-deluxe Aperion/Focus Enhancement set-up as the next guy. But I've got a brand new HDTV that's begging for a proper 5.1 set-up. (Seriously, you should try and listen to my TV whine for surround sound. Totally annoying.)
And all I was saying is that it would be nice to have the opportunity to buy a system that included wireless rear surrounds that lived up to the Aperion promise of "all the quality at half the cost"...now.
