Still needs artwork and the drapes are on the way, but it is coming along quite nicely.  We are replacing the couch in the near future as well, but this one will do for now...

    Any comments/questions are appreciated.

Man, I'm jealous. Very super cool. I like the intimate size of it too. It looks perfect to me. Just wondering about the surround speakers placement. I'll be curious to find out what the best sound is. I've often recommended to tilt the surrounds toward the back wall, in this type of room layout.

Thanks Ben!  Yeah, I am going to have to play with the placement of the surrounds a little.  I have them kicked forward a little now, because the couch back is so high, if they fire straight across, they fire mostly into the couch cushions.  The couch we will be buying shortly is 6" shorter, so that will help.  (plus it looks nicer too)    I'll have to experiment with tilting them towards the back wall, I wouldn't have thought of that.  Thanks for your comments.

VERY nice. In fact, the whole layout with the bar, hockey table and PS2 is nice. Just curious, have you tried raising the height of those surround speakers so that they fire above the couch and ear level?

RE: Coming to a theater near you... (well, me actually)

Thanks Terry.  No, I have not tried raising the height of the surround speakers.  In my last HT, I actually used 40" stands for the rears, which worked nicely.  We will be purchasing a new couch in July (probably won't be here til Sept.) that is 6" lower, so that will help somewhat.  But, as for ear level, that will remain close to the same.  It's a good point, and I will be sure to experiment with it, and LYK.  I still need to play around with their placement, and take into consideration Ben's idea of facing them towards the rear wall as well.

Well, it's been awhile and still no Plasma screen, but I thought I'd update the photos anyway, since it looks a lot better now than what is posted already.  ENJOY!!!

Great setup!  Now let me chime in on the whole XBOX discussion from a little earlier in this thread.  It is so sad how so many audiophiles and HT enthsiasts are unaware of the glorious black box that Microsoft has brought to us.  First of all, to interact with the content that is rendered in Dolby 5.1 in real time as you play is truly incredible.  Heck, it is the closest thing to being a sound engineer right?  Many a time I will come across a sound effect like a waterfall or the roar of an engine and I will have my character on the screen spin around and listen to the sound spin around me from one channel to the next.  Talk about a blast.  If that isn't enough to get you in board, try this on for size.  The XBOX supports HD resolutions!  So, if you've got the TV to display it and the game supports it, then you are gaming in better than DVD resolution folks.

I would suggest for visuals in HD go for Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive Ultimate and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.

For sound check out Halo 2, Riddick, Burnout 3

Also note that the new XBOX, called the XBOX 360 will be out in November and Microsoft has mandated that all games to run on it mus run at HD resolution. I don't know about you, but I am stoked.

Jay, I've played a little X-Box at a friends house on his HT and it is impressive with the 16:9, 5.1DD games.  I have to be honest though, I just can't find the time to game anymore.  We actually pulled the PS2 out of the system after it sat for 8 months with NO use and sold it.

The empty space in the plan (from early in the post where the eventual PS2 station would be located) is where we set up the Texas Hold'em table every other Friday night!  I'M ALL IN!

Well, I brought home a Samsung 42" DLP (HL-R4266W) TV this week, and the HT is finally complete!  I'll have to update the photos again.
