    RE: My HT, finally

No final decision on the 533-Ts yet, I am still experimenting.

It will be a hard decision.

Ken, since you are among the few (only one?) who has both 533T and 633T in the same setup...could you give your impressions on the differences in their sound ?

    RE: My HT, finally

To be honest, I have not done any A-B testing in my system (they are on together).  I did do a little comparison of the two at Aperion (others have as well), but I will say that describing the difference is difficult.  The 633 definitely goes lower and has more presence/punch.  At the same time I think the 533 is fills out the midrange a bit more.  This probably isn't helping, sorry.

I thought I read somewhere that you tried out the Aperions and Av123 Rockets side by side. where did you get to do this ?.. at home ? which other speakers did you try A/B-ing ?

    RE: My HT, finally

Before I bought my Aperion system I exchanged my credit card for a pair of used 633-Ts and brought them over to a friend's house who had a pair of the Rocket 850s and was very interested in hearing the 633.  I wrote about this quite awhile ago (last April) -

    Everything else was individual.

    RE: My HT, finally

Yes, I listened to a pair of M60s from someone in the area who was selling them.  A nice speaker, but a little dull /flat sounding (except on the high end) for my taste.  And no comparison on the cabenitry/finish.

BTW I found this article about placing speakers in cabinets: http://www.axiomaudio.com/speakers_in_wall_units.html

    RE: My HT, finally

I read this article when lookinhg at Axiom speakers and was aware of the issues.  This is why I like Aperion's front ported design and I have the speakers sticking out 1/2" from the front face.  Not ideal, but...

    It is all about trade-offs!

Here you go. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=772081 May be this is a wrong place in this forum to ask, I just found out that B&W 600 series prices are comparable to Aperions. Anybody know how they compare to each other?
