    RE: GO SOX!!!

...back 4-1/2 games again    Time to kick in gear and go on another run if they want a chance....Darn local Mariners.  They play poorly all year, and then step up and shut down the Red Sox bats over the weekend....

Tonight's the night!  The night the Sox turn it around and win three straight to take the ALCS from the dreaded Yanks!

    RE: GO SOX!!!

I couldn't watch the game after Pedro gave up the second SOLID hit. I still think brinking him in was a mistake. Lowe had the Yankees baffled. His pitch count was not bad. He threw a slider that had Jeter flinching. That was a sign he was pitching excellent. The croud was non-existent. Almost anyone could tell Terry by bringing Pedro in, the crowd alone would perk up. Which always perks up a home offense (Especially one like the Yankees).

Remember, some posts back before the season was still going on?....DEFENSE and pitching win championships. The Sox only had one error during the ALCS. To me, that was one of the more impressive accomplishments of this series. Schilling's heart and Lowe pulling himself together were two other highlights for me.

Some may take this next statement to mean I'm a pessimist. I'm really not. But...It ain't over yet. This is just one step to the final goal. There is no consolation prize. The only success in baseball, is winning the World Series.

    RE: GO SOX!!!

How sweet it is...a Yankees - Red Sox series that will forever top them all. Ortiz, Pedro, Millar, Wakefield. Cabrera, Schilling, Lowe...everyone. Johnny Damon breaking out of his slump with a hit, a grand slam and a 2 run homer! Belhorn... from nothing to 2 home runs in 2 nights! And speaking of defense, how about that full stretch and pickup by Mientkiewicz at 1st in the 9th inning, or was that the 8th...I don't know, everything's a blur.
The Sox beat the Yankees in the 7th game at Yankee Stadium. How sweet it is.

    RE: GO SOX!!!

Our resident Red Sox fan is suspiciously out sick today... Anybody seen him? I think he might still be celebrating the game 7 route of the Yankees. As a Yankee fan, it is painful for me but I will offer congratulations to the Sox. They played with a lot of heart and deserved to win. (I still can't believe they pitched to Ortiz in the 14th the other night, but that's another story.) The World Series should be a lot of fun.

    Cheers,

Gee, I think I saw Kor...I mean someone with an Aperion T shirt in the ticket line at Fenway this morning....Then again, it's easier to get tickets and fly to St. Louis than Fenway....

86 years in the making!  Now, onto the dynasty...

Man, I would have loved to be in Boston last night, unfortunately, I couldn't even enjoy the win with my wife at home last night, as I was watching in a hotel room in DC!  Man, now what???

    RE: GO SOX!!!

    .....lol.....

I'm not sure how I am supposed to act.  This whole "winning" thing is new to me!

It was a truly amazing post season.  Normally 4 games sweeps in the World Series are not very entertaining, but I am ok with this one.

.....oh well, wait untill next year.....

OH, we don't have to say that THIS year!  lol  So, here's to getting back next year and not waiting another 86 years.  Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox, and all the fans who NEVER jumped off the bandwagon, even when it was painful to be a Sox fan.

Now....I just hope that they sign Varitek and a few of the other key players.  If they let Pedro go, then they will certainly need to sign another strong pitcher or two.

    RE: GO SOX!!!

Speaking about strong pitching, I was particularly impressed with Lowe's game-winning clinch game performances!  He's showing some promise for heading into next season, after a poor regular season this past year.

Man, I still can't beleive it!!!  So, who's attending the parade tomorrow???

    RE: GO SOX!!!

I went to the parade with some friends and my daughter, who didn't want to go but I insisted, ranting that this is a once in a lifetime event. I have to say it was just incredible. I've been to Patriots and Celtics parades but nothing compared to this. Old people, young people, people from out of state, current players, past players...it was a real love fest. And loud...REAL LOUD! Very noticeable was a large number of older people in their Sox hats and jerseys who just looked like they couldn't believe the Sox finally did it. Heck, I'm not sure if I believe it!
And my daughter who didn't want to go hasn't stop telling her friends how Manny pointed right at her! Truly a once in a lifetime event.
