    Multichannel Music

Being that I'm new to multichannel music, I'm curious as to what others are listening to on DVD-Audio and SACD Surround. So far I'm quite pleased with the following on DVD-Audio:

Steely Dan - Gaucho, Bjork - Vespertine, Crystal Method - Legions of Boom, Outkast - Stankonia.

I've not yet made the 6 necessary analog connections to transmit SACD signals but plan to do so this weekend so I can listen to the SACD's I've already purchased:

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, Allmann Brothers - At the Fillmore East, and Jeff Beck - Blow by Blow.

I'm curious what others recommend in the multichannel realm? Many Thanks,

    Zach

    RE: Multichannel Music

So far Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is the only multi-channel recording that has really impressed me. One nice thing about is it was remastered by the band, so it sounds the way they want it to sound. I've also listened to some David Bowie, but I can't remember which ones. I think I prefer Bowie in 2-channel.

I'm really looking forward to NIN: The Downward Spiral in SACD and DVD-A. Like Dark Side, it was remastered by the band (Trent Reznor), so it'll sound exactly the way he wants it to.

I'm also looking forward to Downward Spiral. It's one of my favorites, and I think it will translate well to multichannel.

    RE: Multichannel Music

I recently got an Aperion Center Channel speaker and it makes listening to multichannel music all the more pleasing. If you like smooth jazz or blues try listening to the new CD by Madeline Peyroux. Also,  Shelby Lynn's new CD is a treat. Don't know too many people that have heard of her,  but English singer Judie Tzuke has a new CD out called "End of the Beginning" that is awesome. She had some popularity in the US in the early 80's with a song called "Stay with me till Dawn,"  but faded into obscurity here when there were problems with  Elton John's Rocket Label Records  distribution.  She is a pal of Elton John and did the supporting act for John in the United States in the 80's. She since has her own record label, BIG MOON Records and her stuff ia available on line at www.tzuke.com . Her older stuff is available on Amazon. com as well.

I like Fleetwood mac on dvd-a, linkin park, and the best of R.E.M.  I purchased a Bob Marley dvd-a and it was horrible..it sounded like an old two channel recording with echoes comming from the rear channels.

What else have you heard that you like?
