I had my sub outside my 5B mains and was not too happy with it especially when I was not in the sweet spot. You might consider pulling it inside your right tower to see if that helps with the tuning.

tadatuo:The sub is sounding better. I had it turned on to "auto" so I could hear it cutting out when there was no bass. Now, I just keep it to the "on" mode, so there is just a steady background noise that is hard to notice. Not perfect, but pretty awesome.
Interesting, mine never cuts out on auto except when it times out. This happens when I watch old movies on no commerical sat channels. But that is as it should be. I don't know what the time out period is but it is fairly long it seems. How do you have the sub set?. On my Onkyo 503 I left the sub level at 0 like I did the mains and I set the crossover to 60. Then on the sub I set it to -6db or -7db.
Looks like a great system.
Check out this thread as it talks a little about the cut out issue you described. Caleb's feedback in the thread is the most important. I'm still working on getting my 8D fully tuned but it's much better now after tweaking my receiver as he described.. Much more fluid in it's transitions and sounds great.
