    Fantasy Hoops?

It's been talked about before, but I'm thinking an Aperion fantasy basketball league would be fun.

    Any takers?

Well hopefully we can get more than just us three to sign up. . .  Bueller?    Bueller?

But there are a couple of different types of fantasy leagues.  The most basic is what's called a salary cap league, check out this one:

    http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/hoops/season1/basic/home.html

With this type of league you get a certain amount of money to spend, I think it's like 25 million, and the players are priced according to supply and demand so if you want Kevin Garnett you'll end up spending nearly half your budget on him or you can pick up bargain players that are lesser known.  You get two trades a week, although in some leagues you can buy extra trades, and can trade for any player as long as you don't go over budget and don't have too many players at the same postion.  You get two guards, two forwards, one center and a sixth man that can be any position.  Different teams can have the same player at the same time in this type of league.

The other type of league that I am familiar with is called a rotisserie.  Here's an example:

     http://basketball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/nba

In this league you have a live draft and everyone chooses players one at a time.  Don't worry if you won't be near a computer during the draft though as you can prerank your picks beforehand.  In this type of league two teams cannot have the same player and you can customize for how many players each team can have at one time.  Generally you have 12 players and can only play five or six per day so you want to be constantly rotating your roster to make sure that you have the maximum number and best possible players on each day.  Some leagues will limit the amount of games you can play at each position so you can't play all guards all the time.  Your trades are unlimited, but usually the pickings are quite slim after everyone has filled their rosters.  You can also do team to team trades if both teams agree upon it.

The rotisserie is a little more involved, but I also think it's a little more fun but if we get a group of people who want to do it we can just vote on whatever type of league we want to do.

    Capiche?

I'm in!  I would say that for ease of use and time involved, the first choice may be the one for me...either way the season is starting in a few weeks!

Here is my choice for no-name point guard.
