Slowly building a 5 series system (Onkyo SR606, Phillips 52")

Hey folks. I can't afford the whole 5 series system in one shot so I'm purchasing the components over time. I'm starting off with the 5Ts and I've attached a picture of the current setup (click image for larger size). I'll update this thread over time as I get the remaining speakers. I'm definitely desiring more base so I'll probably get the 10D next.

One question. I have a big hollow space behind the TV. Do you recommend I put the base box in there (when I get it), or should I just place it on the side?

It will likely be too boomy back there, but experiment and see which location you prefer.  Only your ears can be the judge.  Wink

I agree, to the left or right of your 5Ts if you can will probably be a better position, as a sub will get boomier the closer it gets to any walls.

Hey valiot, nice looking setup.  As for the sub, have you by chance considered a cylinder?  Not sure exactly how much room you have behind your TV, but here's how it looks in my setup:

Not that I want to recommend non-Aperion products in the Aperion forum, but just wanted you to keep your options open.  This isn't boomy in my particular setup.
