    New TV Stand

I've been on the hunt for a new TV stand for a while. As I bought my old one before upgrading my gear, I didn't do a very good job of future-proofing potential setups.  There was literally no room for the Onkyo to breathe, and should I ever upgrade my center to a 6C (likely), there was no wiggle room there, either.

Aside from those things, there was nothing wrong with my old one, in terms of the build quality or anything, but I wanted to use the space issues as an excuse to also dabble in a different style.

Couple quick pics below.  For reference, for those that don't recall what the other stand looked like, go here.

Oh...and I should also mention that I like the idea of getting my center channel higher; more at ear level.  Definitely a noted improvement.  Need to retune everything, though.

Nice, I remember looking at your old pics a while back & nearly drooling Stick out tongue

Are they both Z-Line stands? I have a z-line & it looks almost like your old one but with the tv mount attached (it's the vitoria)... I know what you mean though, should I ever get a bigger tv (which I will) i have to relocate my center.

Still love the setup... especially the cat tree, I also have one just like it lol

LOL...yeah...she pretty much rules the roost.  She seems to have more furniture in the house than I do.

Thanks, btw.  I have no idea who made the first stand.  Just bought it/found it at Circuit City when I bought the TV.  The new one is a Sanus product.  Really happy with it so far.

    Thanks again.

Definite improvement PJ. I like it a lot. I have always wanted to know what it would sound like to have my 6C at the same height (tweeter) as my 6B's. Now you've made me curious. I'll have to do some experimenting this weekend. Nice work.

    Re: New TV Stand

After living with it for a couple days, the center jumps out a lot more.  I'm really kind of surprised.  Didn't think raising it a foot would make such a difference.  But it's definitely something I've noticed.

Will probably break out the leveling gear and retune all the speakers.  Never did it after getting the stands on the surrounds, so after this, I'm definitely due.

Whenever a 6C is in my future, I'll probably swap the two shelves under the TV.  While the top shelf is about 3/4" too narrow, and probably wouldn't be a big deal to hold it, I don't need a larger shelf for just my PS3, so I can put the new center on the larger shelf and have more piece of mind.  They're both rated at 50lbs (6C weighs 37 or 39, I think), so either would probably work.

The new stand seems more accommodating than the old one.  Also, good job on keeping the wires from looking like a tumbleweed
