I would like to get some more detailed specs on the Bravus, my 8D specifically.  

1) Low bass boost - What range does it boost and how much?

2) Parametric Equalization - The width of the narrow, normal and wide ranges?

3) Modes - What are differences in the 3 modes, all other settings being the same?

4) Settings - What settings are stored per mode?

The first two questions I'll have to get in touch with Ken on to get the specifics so please bear with me for a day or two.

For the three modes, there is some inconsistency out of the box with how they are set at the factory so you just have to check them out to see what settings have been applied.  Ideally all three modes will have the crossover and low bass adjust set to bypass and then you can change them according to your preference.

For the movies, music and game modes you can independently set three different crossover and low bass adjust settings.

The other settings such as parametric EQ, phase and volume are global and will be applied the same regardless of which mode you are using.

Ok, so for the low bass adjust, it's a shelf filter that boosts or attenuates all the way from 0 Hz to 80 Hz.  The height of the shelf is up to 6 dB, and you move the entire shelf by 1 dB with each adjustment that you make on the sub.  The curve of the shelf back down to the baseline starts at about 30 Hz.  Once you get to 50 Hz you're at the half way point down the curve with respect to 30 Hz and once you reach 80 Hz you are almost all the way back to the baseline. 

As for the parametric EQ, each change in the level (+1 or -1) will change the peak of the effected frequency band by 1.5 dB.   The Q value for the "wide" setting is 2.0, for the "normal" setting it's 3.5 and for the "narrow" setting it's 6.0. 

I'm sure you are familiar with the Q parameter, but for folks that aren't, it refers to the width of a range of frequencies.  As you can see the Q factor is inversely proportional to the width, so at a low Q factor a larger range of frequencies are effected in comparison to frequencies that are within a high Q value. 

You might also be interested to know that there is some EQ built into the sub that you cannot alter that we used to compensate for the small size of the box.  Specifically in the 8D, the 36 Hz band has a 7dB boost with a Q of 1.5.  There's also a 5 dB cut at 65 Hz with a Q of .5.
