So this is what happened. Got the Apple TV. Sound quality is top notch using HDMI(not having heard the Airtunes, i had nothing to compare it to). Used the Youtube function extensively. Great piece of tech. Problem was it didn't recognize the movies i had on my iTunes library, spent 45 min on Apple Care to find out it needed to go back to the Apple Store. It did recognize the movie i rented in HD for 4.99, good pic qaulity on the movie Gran Torino. Liked having my photos float on the screen as a screen saver while listening to music. So i took it back and got the AitTunes setup. not disappointed but the sound quality is not on the level as the Apple TV.

 With the new iPhone coming out that has video capabilities,and the better sound qaulity, the Apple TV is worth the extra hundy.

Airtunes isn't a product...just a way to stream your music.  Are you saying that you took the Apple TV back and got an Airport Express?  And how do you have whatever your new setup is hooked up?

Yeah, I took Apple TV back because of the software issues and got the Airport base that you plug into the wall and connected it via mini digital to toslink to my 805.

haha...gotcha.  Well...I don't have an Apple TV to compare to, but I've been pleased with the sound put out via the Airport Express.
