Home theater newbie looking for help

    Hi,

I'm looking to get my first real serious home audio system and need some help. I currently live in a small apartment and the room I would be putting the system in is about 10 x 13, but I wouldn't mind a system that could handle a bigger room. I'm still moving around a decent amount and want something that can handle a larger room also. I was thinking about getting the Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K receiver and was thinking about aperion speakers. Any recommendations as to what system to get? Also, any recommendations on the receiver I have picked out?

Greetings.  In regards to your question on which system relative to your living space, I'll go ahead and recommend Aperion's 5B Harmony System.  I'm a huge advocate of bookshelf speakers...they give you (IMO) better intimacy, imaging, placement options and less complication with the crossover engineering.   I have owned their 4C and upgraded to the 5C and give thumbs on build quality, tonal balance and lineratity.  My mains however are Axiom M3ti's so I can't comment on the 5B's but I'm sure they are very similar to the 5C in terms of performance etc.  Now to your AVR question, any quality receiver shouldn't have any problem driving the Aperions; I'd seriously look at Denon, HK, NAD, Outlaw and Sherwood Newcastle.  All of these are pretty beefy and should serve you well.  Aperion has a great in-house guarantee but I'll bet you won't use it.  This stuff is good.
