I'm not sure if this has been asked yet or not, but will the wireless surrounds truly be wireless, or will they be "powered" surrounds that you need to plug into an outlet?  Also, will the front speakers be wireless to, or wired?

You are losing the speaker wire but gaining an A/C power cord.

As far as I've read, all of the speakers are wireless (I'm not sure about the sub-woofer, though.)

Correct all the speakers are powered and have AC cords.  None of them, including the sub, use any speaker wires or cables other than the AC cords.

Yikes, I think PoliteNYC simultaneously totally missed my point and ripped me a new one (so much for the "polite" part of NYC) at the same time when he said:

"A value-based solution means using 'value-based' components, and from what I gather, Aperion isn't going to put their stellar reputation in the audiophile community on the line by putting out a product or embracing a new technology (wireless), and then skimp on the quality of the product."

Nowhere did I say or suggest skimping on quality. The word "value" may imply to PoliteNYC "skimp[ing] on the quality of the product," But I think that Aperion and myself think of value in a different way. Allow me to quote from the Aperion home page:

"All the quality at half the cost"

To me, that pretty much defines "value" in the context of this discussion. I'm as excited and interested in the full-on super-deluxe Aperion/Focus Enhancement set-up as the next guy. But I've got a brand new HDTV that's begging for a proper 5.1 set-up. (Seriously, you should try and listen to my TV whine for surround sound. Totally annoying.)

And all I was saying is that it would be nice to have the opportunity to buy a system that included wireless rear surrounds that lived up to the Aperion promise of "all the quality at half the cost"...now.

PS. Apologies for my comment about the "PoliteNYC" name...he was perfectly polite in his earlier response to me. Sorry PoliteNYC! Sometimes I say/write dopey things.

You're in luck, you can have (somewhat) wireless surrounds now with a product like this:
