    4t's or 4b's with 8a?

What should I do? Get the 4b's with the 8a or get the 4t's?

I will be using it for a mix of 60% HT and 40% music. I will be a 15x20 room. I also have the 5c.

If price is not an issue, go with the 4T. A tower will always outperform a bookshelf. I had to do bookshelf do to WAF. And that is the ONLY reason. I would have loved me some towers. With that said, I do love my 4 5B, 5C and 12D. I am so sure that the 12D is the main reason I don't miss having towers.

Will I be satisfied with the bass from the 4T's compared to having the 8a with the 4b's? I don't want to miss out on that low end that I love so much during movies and music.

You almost need the 4T's.  4B's will have some serious drop-off in the frequency range before the sub picks up.  Without the towers or bigger bookshelves, you'll actually be missing some of the sound.

Thanks! That's EXACTLY what I was wondering.

So for now, I'll pick up the 4T's and save up for the 10D/12D.

What is the impression of the 8a on the forums? I really couldn't find any posts about it!

    Re: 4t's or 4b's with 8a?

    Greetings,

    How big is your room?

I would not recommend the 4B's as the front mains for anything expect maybe for an extremely small room as part of a 5.1 system or maybe a computer station monitor.  Not only do you get a lot more bass from the 4T's but you alos get a lot more midrange.  They are going to open up your soundfield quite a bit over the 4B's thus filling your room with more sound and providing you with a more immersive/expansive experience.. The difference would not be subtle.

Go with 4T's for now  and add a sub later (choose based on room size).
