I use 5Bs in the rear. Now they're sitting inside of an open area about 9' up (there's nowhere else to put them). I have them wedged to aim down but I need to angle them down more but I'm afraid they'll topple over. I'd like to use mounts in the side wall that would allow me to move the speakers up a bit so I can angle them down securely.  I looked at the Omnimount (the 20.0 and the 20.5) online but can't tell if they'll do the job. I know Aperion sells the 20.0. I don't see a problem with the weight, but do you think they'd work for what I have planned? Hopefully the drawings will make sense, if not - let me know.

Hey Joe,

Yep should work just fine, looks like you are thinking about using the ceiling mount as a wall mount as the ceiling mount is the one that has a right angle like that, but it's the same ball joint as the wall mount so I don't see any problems with using it in that configuration.
 

I tried it. Nope, didn't work.  The concept was good but that's about it.  Two problems. First, I couldn't mount them directly to a stud so I used the anchors they provided into the drywall. With the 5B hanging on it you could see the top anchor start to pull away from the wall. If you mount these into a ceiling it would handle the weight with no problem but because I mounted them sideways I was pulling on the top anchor.

Second problem (as if you could live with the first problem) is that it was almost impossible to adjust the arm and keep it where you wanted it.  I was trying to point the speaker down and then at an angle from the down position.  The ball in the mount would always give a bit regardless of how hard I tightened it.

It was worth a shot but I'm returning them. My quest to find something that will work continues.
