Star Trek is well worth a rent.  And for those of you with little ones of the holiday weekend, I highly recommend "Up".

Yes, watched it Friday night.  It is nice to see a movie that has some originality to it instead of something or another I, II, III, IV, V, etc.  Of course there are a couple of exceptions.

    Walmart $5 Bin

Picked up the Last Samurai the other day in the $5 bin.  I feel it is a pretty good movie on several fronts.

    Cheers

We just watched District 9 yesterday.  I thought it was a really very good movie, and provided a great workout for the Aperions.  Lots of guns and explosions and sound effects (the helicopters were great on the height channels) and overall just a really good bit of sci-fi.  Definite recommendation.

I just watched that last night, too.  Was pleasantly surprised that it was 1.85:1.  Made me further glad that I went with a 16:9 screen instead of 2.35:1!

Since my daughter watches animated movies old and new, I went with the 16:9 screen too.  1:85:1 has always been my favorite.

Also a good movie is "Stardust". Along the lines of "A Princess Bride".

Finally watched District 9 and Up. Great movies!

District 9 beat the crap outta my 8D lol. With some adjustment it was fine. Amazing sound in that movie.

Re: How about a good movie to watch.......

After much consideration I have developed a movie rating system. Now I know some people will disagree, but it matters NOT. It's my system, I thought of it, so there! There are 5 different ratings.

    1. No Pause. This is the highest rating a movie can get. It means you are able to watch this movie all the way through without pausing the Blu-Ray player for a snack or to go to the bathroom. Few movies will ever get this rating.

    2. Two Pauses. Movies that get this rating are entertaining and worth your time.Good enough to watch and pause to get a snack and a trip to the bathroom for a quick pee-pee.

    3. Dishwasher. This means the movie has alot of problems keeping your attention. You can get up from the couch or chair and go do dishes but still keep the movie in sight and rolling.

    4. Dog Walker. This means that you are so uninterested that you will leave the house and do not care what happens while you are gone. Also here the movie keeps rolling.

    5. Turned Off. This speakes for itself. You turned this loser off before it ended.

    Ratings of movies will follow.

Nice rating system, definitely more descriptive than thumbs up/down or stars.

Although I don't have a dog, so I guess for me that one would just be "wander around the neighborhood aimlessly" which is kinda creepy.  Hmmmm. . . .
