    GO SOX!!!

Well, heading out again early from the office to watch the Red Sox wipe up the O's in Camden Yards tonight.  With Schilling pitching, it's almost a sure thing.  Watched Pedro take them to a win on Monday night!  Now, if only the Yanks could start losing...

    RE: GO SOX!!!

Yeah, other then Ortiz' 2 outs 2 strikes top of the 9th solo shot, the game last night sucked!

Well, Nomar goes the way of other favorite Red Sox and heads out of town.  Given the way things were handled during the last year, they made a good deal by trading him though.  I doubt he would have signed with them this summer, so they did well with the trade.  It would have been nice to get another starting pitcher, but they did greatly improve the defense.

    RE: GO SOX!!!

Although I am sad to see Nomar go, I agree and feel that it was a wise decision on the Red Sox's part.  Noh-mah was my wife's favorite Sox player, and she was shocked to hear the news!  At least, as it turns out, we got to see Nomar's second to last start as a Redsock.

    RE: GO SOX!!!

Yeah, he was my favorite also, but I am used to seeing the favorites go now (Mo Vaughn was my previous favorite, but that seemed to work out ok)  Nomar has been so dinged the last couple years, and I don't see how he could have a healthy at****ude with the way they handled him over the summer.  I think this was best for everyone under the conditions.  That is great that you got a chance to see him play.

On an off note. Nomar is a unique name, and I think it is kinda funny how is father came up with the name.  Ramon is his fathers name and Nomar is Ramon backward.  With that logic, if I had a son and named him Yerok....hmm, that doesn't seem to work

    RE: GO SOX!!!

ohhh, and other favorites to go...

    -Fred Lynn

    -Carlton Fisk

    -Roger Clemens

There are plenty more but it could be worse, we could be Expos fans!   We would never see a career player then....At least we had Yaz, Ted Williams, Jim Rice etc.

That's an interesting peice of knowledge, I never knew that?  Ortiz is my favorite Sock.  Of course he's had a couple of long dry spells between homers this year, but still great to watch!  Watch out for flung bats though...

    RE: GO SOX!!!

I really like Ortiz also.  He is fun and usually very positive.  He was great with the Twins but never got a full time job.  Once he did, he got injured.  I believe he was a hot commodity from the Mariner organization way back when...if I recall correctly.

    RE: GO SOX!!!

Yeah, he started off his MLB career there.  No ball for him this week though, taking his 5 game suspsension...

    RE: GO SOX!!!

I was sentenced at birth to a lifetime of suffering with the Sox. It's right there on the birth certificate, in the fine print. I have no choice.

    Escape while you still can!

    RE: GO SOX!!!

HaHaHa.  I wasn't born a Sox fan, I was converted to one living in NE for 5 years (and my wife has helped as well).  Oh what will we ever do if they bring it all home?

    RE: GO SOX!!!

    LOL,

It's too late for me now also. I attatched myself to the suffering as a kid during the 1975 World Series.  Little did I know what I was in for.

    RE: GO SOX!!!

Went to the game last night. Perfect weather, 1st game of a homestand after 2 week road trip, Schilling on the mound, just doesn't get any better than this...oh wait, you actually have to win the game! Ugh

    RE: GO SOX!!!

OH YEAH BABY!!!  Cowboy Up!  Looks like the trade is paying off already, with all aquisitions making key plays in their initial outings as a sock!  Also, my boy Ortiz is back on target!!!  Closing the sizable gap on NY, QUICKLY!  Playing like them need to be, to enter the playoffs!
