    Woo Hoo!

Just got my new AVM30 hooked up and it's sweet.  Gonna take a while to surf through all the possible settings.  So far it's impressing me.

    RE: Woo Hoo!

Anthems 'Anthem Music' mode is amazing.  It's not over-the-top with DSP, but just enough to make the difference.  Listening to older favorites in this mode is like a new experience.  I just can't see listening to standard stereo anymore with my Anthem and Aperions.

    RE: Woo Hoo!

Just wondering how you like the Anthem combo with your Aperions.

I have the Anthem set-up...got it about 7 months ago. Cannot get the thing to sound right?

I ended up blaming my speakers...Aperions.

I have two 522LR bookies in front under a 533 VAC and to 534ss in rear with a SVS 320 W sub.  I have had the speakers for 13 months.

Todday I called and asked Aperion to take back my 522 bookies and send me two 633Ts.

My guess is that it is part speaker placement, part Anthem set-up (dialing it in)...it just seems that I have to really crank the volume up in order to fill a fairly small room with any level of sound that I think should be there. Room is only 15x20 (open on one end though)...but I swear I could get more poerful sound from my 25 year old 200W Denon and my Cerwin Vegas...aslo 25 years old.

    Any thoughts?

Did you find setting up the Anthem easy...I admit I spent about 30 minutes total...so shame on me.

    RE: Woo Hoo!

Sorry for the big delay in replying.

I have been tweaking the mul****ude of crossover points in the system for quite some time actually.  My setup is a litte more basic, I'm running my PT's full range with no subwoofer, and directing the LFE to the front LR as well and it sounds awesome.

When you say powerful sound, do you mean that you seem to be lacking some low midrange?  Or do you mean just pure SPL?

Also, what type of amplifier are you using to drive the Aperions?

I have noticed that the Anthem is <prepare for subjective description> more 'clinical' than other products I have used.  By clinical I mean sterile, no life so-to-speak.  But, each input can be selected to bypass the Anthem and go direct, or, use the Anthem DSP and tweak bass/treble etc etc to give you certain amount of customization to your sources.  Also, you can have 2 totally seperate setups for stereo and multichannel sources, and I mean seperate down to using a subwoofer or not, crossover points and input level adjustments.  You can assign these modes on a per input basis to automatically reconfigure upon selecting that source.

I would play with the settings and certainly read the manual for the AVM, it's a very sophisticated unit and if you only spent 30 minutes, you haven't really scratched the surface.

    RE: Woo Hoo!

    I have: Anthem AVM30 with Anthem PVA-5.

I will try your suggestion, especially since I just got...last week...a set of Aperion 633 Towers....to replace the little bookshelf ones.

    Thanks
