Do I need an amp or something?

I purchased two Intimus 532-LR's, an Intimus 422-C for my center and one for my rear.  I purchased 80 percent volume when I'm listening to movies and music.  It's up pretty loud, but I can go louder.  This receiver puts out 95watts per channel.  It just doesn't seem normal that I should have to push it to 80 percent to get the sound I'm getting.  Do I need an amp or something?  I'm concerned about pushing the receiver that much on a regular basis.  Also, I've got the 10" sub.  I think my house has moved of the foundation now.  Great sub and great all around sound.  Do I need an amp?  If so, any suggestions?  Thanks!

Hi Mark. Most modern receivers are like this. 80 is pretty normal. You'll find that the higher the number, the louder each digit is as you go up in volume from there. Normal listening level with the Onkyo receiver (which I'm assuming you have) is 70 - 90 on the knob.

    Cheers,
