Speaker Wire Lengths?

    Speaker Wire Lengths?

How important is that the speaker wire to the Right, Center and Left channel are cut to the same lengths? My right and left speakers will be close in length but I have been more concerned with spacing them evenly apart.I am planning on dropping the cable down the wall and run it through the attic. This is causing the run to be quite long at 25-30 feet to each speaker. But the center channel I was just going to drop down the wall and the run would be about 7 feet. Is this a big deal, for delays?   I have the Denon 3805 receiver and it has a setup mic that reportably adjust for delays room eq stuff like that, but this has me concerned.

    Thanks,

    Richard

Don't worry about it.  Speaker wire length is not an issue.  Disparities in the distance from the different speakers to your listening position is an issue (even though it is often overblown).  However, you have an excellent receiver that will adjust for it.

    Enjoy!

    RE: Speaker Wire Lengths?

With speaker wire lengths you need to use some common sense judgement. Generally, it is suggested that the front L,C & R use all the same length of wire but it is more detrimental to use an extra long center wire just to match the length than it is to use the appropriate lengths even if they are different. You can adjust for the delay manually using your speaker set up menu.
