Hello All,
In another thread, Caleb Denison (from Aperion?) mentioned when using the Denon 3806 to stay away from the auto setup mic, and to use a manual calibration. He left it hanging without explaining why
My 3806 is a recent addtion to my HT, so I do not have all of its settings and options mastered. Given that, from my short experience, the auto setup seems to do a great job in compensating for the harsh effects that come from my untreated living room... during movies. This can easily be heard when flipping between eq modes. When listening to music (2ch), I prefer the eq off and listen via "pure direct".
How would you manually calibrate the equializer without the aid of the auto setup for at least a starting point? Can adjusting the eq be done on this receiver outside of the distance and level settings?
So, what do you owners of Denon receivers equipped with Audessey EQ think? Manual calibration or auto?
Thanks!
