Hey Matt, you mentioned starting another thread about upscaling to 720p/1080i via HDMI. To answer your question, yes I do upscale pretty much everything to 720p. As you know, I've got the DVD-3910, it runs HDMI out to a Sony KDF55WF955 (Grand Wega IV RPTV). I was FORCED to compare the output with HDMI to output with component, as the HDMI only worked intermittently at first! This was quite a bummer, but a firmware update from Denon fixed the problem. Although video looked great over component, there really is no comparison to the upscaled content. It has so much more detail and depth than it does at 480p. There are some naysayers out there who say that you should run everything to the display at 480i and let the deinterlacer in the display scale it rather than scaling twice, but I don't see that benefits the picture at all with my setup. When I put in something with reference quality video, like Episode 2 or Once Upon a Time in Mexico (Superbit), it looks as good as the better HD. I suppose if I had the money back, I would still get the 3910 not only for the video processing, the audio is great too! I think I would probably look for a display with a native 720p resolution in order to get 1:1 pixel mapping (GWIV has a native 768p, what's that about?). I'm really just nitpicking though, I love my setup!
