Daryl,
Actually I have never heard a concert DVD.
I am just so impressed with my setup even with standard FM channels. I just don’t like the commercials and fill-talk of the host. Even SD TV movies are great on this system.
I don’t have HD or Blu-Ray since I am going to wait until one becomes dominant but standard DVD movies in Multi-Ch are very good even in only 5.1 on my 7.1 System where the rear channels can be simulated in certain listening modes to provide 7.1.
I had 2 Acoustimass-7’s in my main listening area now employed as a computer sound system except for one of the bass units that is now a plant stand.
Although I have a number of posts here regarding what I feel is unnecessary power draw of the S-10, the S-10 is probably still my favorite speaker. The S-10 filled a void that was absent in music and movies for me for a long time.
I run my S-10 at about 30% and depending on the source I still find things that I need to isolate or secure to reduce unwanted vibrations. This is a good thing although my neighbors may not think so since I can then crank the volume higher.
My Aperion Speakers:
2) 632 L/R, 2) 532 L/R, 1) 532 C, 2) 534-SS, 2) 422 rear surrounds and an S-10 Sub.
8 driven by Onkyo TX-SR805
2 driven by Sony STR-DE997
My setup is probably rather unconventional but it works well for me.
