    Idea [I] Intimus S8

I bought a Intimus S8 powered sub just a few days ago. I am very impressed with the build quality, overall style/substance, and the output from this 8" driver is blowing me away! I have used 12" Kicker Comp drivers, 15" Pioneer woofers, and many 8" speakers in the past and I must say, this sub rules! I popped in a CD probably made for car audio competitions called Maximum Boom for your System. It has a few tracks designed to test the lower octaves, from as low as 10Hz up to about 100Hz. While I don't have a sound pressure meter or an oscilloscope, I do have 35 year old ears, the last twenty being spent listening to a wide genre of music-from rap to classical to rock and this subwoofer is quite the power house! And customer satisfaction? Please. Free shipping, 30 day trial run offered, a superb packing job with precision fit hard foam, box taped shut and wrapped 3 times with thick nylon strapping, sweet satin lined velvet bag/cover, brass spikes and a beautiful gloss finish (black) with rounded edges. Very nice folks on the phone, great web-site, forums with more than just audio talk, pretty big customer list for a small city like Portland.....'nuff said. I will brag about this company for years to come. Thank you very much Aperion Audio!

    Hey Eric,

Thanks for the post, man. I sometimes think that the 8" sub gets overlooked because it's easy to get hung up on size when you're just looking at it. Your post puts some real world experience behind what someone sees on a webpage and we thank you for it!

    Hey Eric,

Would you mind adding this as a review for the Bravus 8D?  You'd be the first to review it!

He probably would if he got that instead of his Intimus S8!

Make sure to check out your subwoofer  before your warranty runs out, my S10 died but I didn't notice it right away,   I'm 2 weeks out of the warranty period and they won't help me out.      I was unaware Aperion has known issues with their subwoofer amps.

    Re: Intimus S8

Doug...sorry about your sub....honestly...and I mean no disrespect....

However, I did a quick check on three of the big sub makers out there. SVS and AV123 have a 3 year warranty, period. Epik has 7 years on the driver and 2 years on the amp.

It would seem as though Aperions warranty is second to none with 3 years on the electronics, and 10 years on the speaker.

You stated in another post it would cost $100 to fix. That does not sound like a bad deal if you really like the sub. You certainly cannot get a decent sub for three times that price.

I wish you the best, honestly. And no, I don't work for Aperion. But after installing my 5.1 system over the weekend, I may be accused of being a fanboy. If so, so be it.
