Admittedly, I don't have a PS3 yet.  I am still holding off for a while and truthfully don't feel compelled yet to get one.  In my opinion, there aren't any must-have games out yet that are exclusively PS3.  Maybe, and that is a big maybe, MotorStorm, which I played at a kiosk - that was fun.  But nothing that is screaming at me yet.

Wonder if anyone else had some opinions?

I have to agree with you.  Resistance: Fall of Man is incredible.  I was one of those people who camped out for the PS3 a couple of nights before the system came out.  Of course I sold it on E-bay immediately after and never felt the need to own one since the gaming library was sub-prime in my opinion.   I recently bought one for the  movie titles unique to Blu-Ray.  I've downloaded a couple of demos and must say that MotorStorm is  jaw dropping as well.

I agree with the other guys. Resistance is excellent as well as Motorstorm. An inexpensive good game is Calling All Cars. It's a very fun game to play with friends. I also like Fight Night 3 but the loading times can be annoying.

I played a demo of DiRT for the 360.  When I played the buggy track, I was thinking that it was a lot like MotoStorm.  Sure it doesn't have the all-out chaos that MotoStorm has.  But it was a lot of fun nonetheless.

Hmmm.  Now that a nice substitute for MotoStorm is coming for the 360, I am finding it even harder to justify ponying up $600 for a PS3.  Sure, Blu-Ray, would be nice.  But really, that's even too much for something that might go the way of the BetaMax once the whole HD-DVD/Blu-Ray debacle gets ironed out.  Didn't these guys learn their lessons with VHS/Beta?!? 

It is not a PS3 only game but I think Tomb Raider Anniversary is the best game I have ever played. I am biased because I have been playing Tomb Raider games for 10 years on my PC. The newer games are too much for my PC so I got a PS3 instead of a PC upgrade.

There are a lot of people whining in forums about the bugs in this game. I think they are minor and even with them, this game is great. If you like adventure mixed with puzzle solving and the occasional battle to the death (usually me), this game is for you.

I hope the developers are working on a Tomb Raider for PS3.  If I ever finish this game, I will next try Resistance next.

It is better to be nice than right.

I would nominate Ratchet and Clank Future. A beautiful looking, great playing, and wonderfully written game. It's by the same company that did ristance Fall of Man. It's a bit cartoony for some, but don't let that stop you. I've got to say that my upgraded speakers makes this game a treat with it's excellent 7.1 sound.

I find it interesting that it has been over 10 months since my original post, and I still am hard-pressed to name a PS3-only game that is a must-have - for me anyway.

Well, maybe now that HD-DVD is essentially dead, I might get a PS3 as a Blu-ray player that can play games too....

Of course, if Microsoft wants to continue its need-to-take-over-the-world campaign, then they will probably soon announce that they will have a Blu-ray add-on player a la their HD-DVD add-on (which, incidentally, I have seen now in stores for $50!).

I've had a PS3 for a few months, and for me, the only MUST PLAY games are Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted.  Both of which are absolutely gorgeous - some of the nicest art and graphics I've ever seen.

I'm pretty excited for Metal Gear, Home and LittleBigPlanet.  I think this year is when the PS3 will hit its stride with software and cheaper hardware.  The PS3 architecture is kind of ridiculous in its complexity (5 processor cores!?  Srsly?), and developers will start tapping into it and working some magic.

I completely agree with you Alex. I bought a PS3 for 10% off from a CompUSA (since they are all closing). Games were the last priority for the system as I was more concerned with Blu-Ray for my hi-def setup.

Anyway, I'll add Folklore to the list as well. I've only played it for a bit as of now, but it seems like a really great game so far. Check out some reviews somewhere on it.

Also, Guitar Hero III is just tons of fun. I can't really think of a better way to break in some new speakers from Aperion! Opps, but that isn't a PS3 only game now is it??? ;)

Ahhh, I did forget about Folklore!  I've got that one too.  The art is actually kind if mind-blowing - better than 98% of all games out there.

WARNING...High difficulty level.  I recommend a strap harness to secure the PS3 remote to your wrist.  This will protect from any  bursts of outrage that may cause you to turn the remote into a projectile.
