    New Closeout Speaker Section

    Hi,

Check this out. We have just added a special speaker closeout to the product section on our website. In this section, you will find all of our open box A-stock speakers (open box, new condition) and the last of the Classic Intimus line. These are the remaining pieces of new in-box inventory from the last generation of product.

Open box A-stock products are 20% off

Closeout new products are 10% off

We even have a really amazing deal on a system called the 532-C Harmony system. It is made up of five, 532-C center channels (which is our award-winning 532 oriented horizontally for center placement) and one S-12 subwoofer. Regular price on this would be $1,499. There are a limited number available in medium cherry for only $999! Hurry because at this price they won't last long.

View all the closeout speakers here.

Act fast because these products are selling as quickly as we can add them.

    Cheers,

    Re: New Closeout Speaker Section

    Hi,

The 532C system looks like a great deal. I have a question. My living room is 15 ft x 25 ft, adjoined to the dining room through an open wall (24x25 ft total). My purported uses would be music and home theater. I am  not looking for a bassy system, and I think that I would be happy with the sub 8 or sub 10,  but the deal comes with a S- 12 sub. I am worried that sub will be too much for me? Some reviewers have mentioned that the driver on the sub is not as quick.

The problem is that the deal is almost too good to pass on.

Are there ways to modulate the sub so as to not make it too bassy and that it would not dominate the system.

    TIA, Nelson

    Re: New Closeout Speaker Section

    Nelson,

For $999 that is a great deal…I have heard a lot of good things about the S12" Aperion sub and there are plenty of controls to get it integerated to your listening tastes.  I wouldn't hesitate pulling the trigger on it and you are backed by that 30 day in home trial.

Basically all you need is an SPL meter and a receiver that allows for a separate subwoofer hookup with a built in crossover.  Find a good location for the sub and calibrate with your SPL meter and you should have a system with rich, full, bass ;)  The room size you mention seems like a perfect fit for a 12" .

FYI…I have a 12" velodyne in a 11x20 room and properly calibrated it fills out nicely…  Bottom line I wouldn't be too worried about putting a 12" subwoofer in there..Get em while they are hot!

    Re: New Closeout Speaker Section

Regarding the 532-C Harmony system (made up of five, 532-C center channels), what is the best way to set them up?  Can they be wall mounted? Can they be mounted on stands, both vertically or only horizontally? My concern is that maybe  horizontal LR speakers may  look funny on stands.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks

    Re: New Closeout Speaker Section

The 532-C is the same speaker as the 532-lr.  It just has a different grille so that the speaker has a more apporpriate appearance when sitting horizontally.  I has a rear port so I'm not sure if wall mounting is the best option, but it could work by putting a sock or something in the ports....I'll leave further clarification for the Gurus...

Appearance and WAF is a consideration.  You could take the Grille's off the speakers and mount them vertically on stands...Or you could see if Aperion has 2 532-LR grilles laying around to put on two of your 532-C's?

If it were me I would just take the grilles off and stand them up vertically on stands.

In my opinion, for $999 the product is definately worth the small quibbles...

UPDATE:  I see you posed the same question here:  Looks like Scottiemon has them mounting horizontally on the wall and is pretty happy so is his significant other.

    Re: New Closeout Speaker Section

    Hey guys,

You can mount a 532-C with the Omni 20 wall mount (or the B-Tech pivot mount if we ever get them back in stock), either vertically or horizontally, and not lose any significant sound quailty as it is not a particularly bassy speaker and the 3-4 inches the mount gives from the wall is adequate.

As for using 532-LR grilles with the 532-C that won't wor because the holes in the cabinet are not lined up properly, so if it were me I would either mount them horizontally or go grille-less if you do go vertical, unless your 532-Cs are particularly modest.  Big Smile

    Thanks Dan and Jason.

IIRC, the 532-C's do not have pre drilled screw holes in top or bottom (if placed vertically), so how are these speakers be placed on stands?

I am assuming the 532-C's have pre drilled screw holes in the back, correct?

Yes you are correct the 532-C has pre drilled holes in the back, but these are the only mounting holes.  The speaker will sit securely on a stand horizontally without a security screw, but that is really your only option for stands, at least the ones that we sell, as they will not be secure vertically.

    Re: New Closeout Speaker Section

    Hmm, thanks for the reply.

Not much options for placement of the LR speakers (532-C package) then if the TV is on a stand in a corner.

    Any recommendations?

    Re: New Closeout Speaker Section

If it were me I would probably go grill-less and wall mount them vertically with the Omni wall mounts.  But I found these stands from standsandmounts.com and it looks like the top plate can be adjusted to accomodate the 7.33" width of the 532s if you are placing them vertically.

    Re: New Closeout Speaker Section

    Thanks Jason,

I saw the link. Those stands fit the 532-C specs, including weight capacity (I think the 532-C weighs 12.6 lbs) The weight capacity on the stands is 15 lbs.  Cool. Thanks for looking that up.

I wish I could mount the 532-C  LR's to the wall, but my TV is in a corner with window, so mounting is not possible. The other option is to move the whole system and set up the LCD above the fireplace, but that will require a minimum of $1200 extra in labor, etc. I'd rather avoid that if possible. That is why I will be taking a closer look at those stands.

OTOH, I am expecting a baby in 5 months, and he will grow to be a terrible two, grabbing on to things and stands and stuff...  Sooo, I may have to pre-emptively move the whole system above the fireplace after all. Stick out tongue

Do you think my wife will buy that argument?

    Re: New Closeout Speaker Section

$1200 sounds a little steep for the remodeling job...Can you show us a pic of your fireplace?

I had the same issue.  I orginally had my plasma in the corner then I said heck with it I'm going to put everything against the wall...What I can tell you is TV viewing is much more enjoyable with the TV on the wall vs in the corner. The picture just stands out more.

You could probably do it yourself way cheaper.  My wall mounting was very inexpensive.  I bought my wall mount and cabling from monoprice.com all for under $100...The tricky part is running the wires....

Granted, it's not above the fireplace but you get the idea...

Jason, I noticed that the 532-C drilled holes in the back are not in the center, but more to the side. Will this cause any problem due to uneven weight distribution on the wall mounts?  Thanks.

It should be fine, but I would recommend that you mount them to a stud just to be safe.

    Re: New Closeout Speaker Section

I bought the 532-C 5.1 system. The center and two rear speakers will be horizontally placed. I would like to wall mount  the LR speakers vertically. I saw the B-Tech BT77's. I read that screwing the speakers to the wall mount is not necessary with these mounts. Can I mount the 532-C 's  vertically using the BT77 's ?

Which one is a better mount (ease of placement, price, aesthetics), for my purposes (vertical placement of the 532-C); the BT77 or the omni pivot mount recommended above?

    Thanks.
