On the fence, tell me which side to jump to!

OK, so i have a set of Klipsch Quintet SLs (L/R/C/Rears) that i got from Best Buy for $650. I didn't get the sub cuz i wanted to explore other options.

I came across Aperion from posting to an A/V forum and wanted to check it out.

Needless to say i am now torn on what to do. I am sure the Klipsch i have will sound great once i get the sub and system setup but i can't resist these amazing speakers. I really like the vibe i get from the company, its great reviews, and all the bonuses like 30day trial, free shipping, 1yr exchange, 1oyr warr. etc.

I am pretty sure you will all say that i should return the Klipsch (i have 30 days to do that) and get the 4B 5.1 sys from Aperion but i wanted to float this out there.

One thing i am not clear on is how to mount the speakers. The Klipsch have a threaded hole for mounting but i don't see that on the 4Bs. I did see 2 places where it looks like a mount would go but not sure. If they are mounting points, what mount works best? Not looking to spend a ton on mounting brackets.

So fire away and tell me why i should just shut up and call tomorrow to buy the 4B 5.1 sys.

    Thx, Neil

You have already heard the Klipsch, so go ahead and return them. Order the Aperions and give them a shot. Do note that they take a bit of time to break in. Mine really loosened up after about 20 hours. You have nothing to loose. If you like the Klipsh better, you can always re-obtain them.

One recommendation....get the 5B for the front, and 4B for the rear if you can afford that option. If not, if you like the speakers and keep them, you can always trade up if it is less than a year.

The bookshelf speakers do have threaded holes for mounting, so no worries there.

Let us know what you have decided Neil!

What size room is this going in? What is your budget?

Hey Neil, welcome to the forum!

For the 4Bs you can use the small b-tech pivot mount, and they are only $19 a pop, here is the product page:

As for Klipsch vs. Aperion, one thing Klipsch is known for are pretty aggressive highs.  If you like a speaker that has more treble emphasis then they may be the best choice for you.  We are trying to go for a flat frequency response with more of an equal presentation of the entire frequency spectrum.  Of course if you get ours and don't like them you can always send them back, so why not check them out?  Big Smile

Re: On the fence, tell me which side to jump to!

that's what I would consider a medium sized room and if you could swing it budget wise go for the 5B Fusion SD system.  If not then you get 30 days trial on that 4B system.  I do know my 4B surrounds sound just about as "Big" as the old 532's.

I know it might seem a little expensive but I, as well as others, will tell you Aperions are well worth their weight in gold...Just wait until you see em in person and give em a listen.

good luck and let us know what happens

Re: On the fence, tell me which side to jump to!

I just got my set in the mail this week.  I'm still working on getting them setup and dialed in (I got a new receiver that I'm trying to master too) so I can't comment quite yet on their performance but I've been very impressed with everything else.  From the online community, to their fast and helpful support, to their overall design and construction everything is top notch.  Any they look great too.  I got the cherry finish and the sub is beautiful!

My room is very similar to yours only a little smaller and I opted for the 4Bs knowing I'd have the option to upgrade if I (or the wife) still wanted more.  Having that option along with the 30 days really made this an eaiser decision to spend the extra on them.

    Good luck
