I just ordered the 5B Fusion system which will be set up in my family room.  The floorplan is open so the family room is part of a larger room which includes the kitchen and dining area.  The area the speakers will be set up in is 15' x 14'.  The total kitchen/dining/family area is 25' x 20'.  The usage will be 50/50 TV/music.  I don't plan on rattling the windows volume wise.  Probably the loudest the volume will get is when watching a movie or if I am listening to music when nobody else is home.  Then the volume will be louder than normal conversation level.  I will be using a Sony A/V receiver with 125 WPC

I am looking for opinions on whether this system will be enough.  It is what is in my budget for now.  Do I need to start saving for an upgrade?

Greetings PDouglas and allow me to be the first to welcome you to our humble community.  There are a handful of us that typically hang out, besides the Men In Black (the guru's who work at aperion)...

i don't think you are going to get much argument from any of us about that system there in a 15X14 area.  You are going to have fun with it.  To be honest it's going to rock your socks off for movies and just thrill you with multichannel music.  Aperion makes really good bookshelve systems that sound real big when they are all working together.  And the build quality is no joke.

I have this system minus the Bravus sub, I've got a velodyne.  I sit sixteen feet away and the only thing I wish that was better was two channel music.  But who needs two chanel music when you have 5 Aperion tweeters screaming at you in unison. 

Pay close attention to how that Bravus 8D fills the space in that room.  I think becuase the room is open you may get a little bit better fill had you gone with the 10D..But then again I've never heard one.

Well, it's a bit late to be asking now that you ordered it...But hey, I understand.  You are eagerly awaiting the arrival of your system so you've gotta do something to pass the time....Anyway, from my readings on the forums the 5B bookshelve systems seem to be very popular lately. 

Did you order cherry or black.  If you ordered black I can show you some good close ups to wet your appetite

Thanks for the welcome.  I ordered the cherry.  At the moment I am alternating between looking at the pictures on this site and wiping the drool from my chin.  My coworkers suspect I am rabid and may need to be put down.  I am really looking forward to getting these speakers.  I have always lived in apartments and now that I am moving into a house, this will be the first true home theater I have had. 

The sub was one of my concerns.  The other was the 2 4B's as the rear speakers.  I have read reviews of the 4B's and I am confident they will work.  If not, I can always upgrade them to 5B's later.  Unfortunately the sub cannot be upgraded.  I debated substituting the 10D for the 8D but in the end budget won out. 

Another question.  The floors are tile and the room does have a slight echo.  After moving furniture in, the echo was reduced.  I can add an area rug if I have to but I am wondering if anyone has had similar problems and what did they do to fix it.
