    Aperion Speaker Wire

Is it CL3 rated for in-wall use?  I see in the description it's advised not to use in-wall...is that just because it's the fat 12 gauge?  Or is it because it doesn't have the protective jacket that is fire reg. compliant?  Just wondering before I install the wire through my walls!

It is not for in wall use.  Try monoprice.com, I am sure they have it.

    Re: Aperion Speaker Wire

You should use CL2 for in-wall use.  Although ratings are not covered, Aperion has a good article on choosing the gauge:  http://www.aperionaudio.com/AperionU/choose_speaker-wiring.aspx

Someone will reply to this post saying you don't need CL2 because the wire doesn't get hot. But, your local building code probably calls for CL2, why be out of compliance if it's only going to cost a few dollars more?

If you can't have fun doing it, it's probably not worth doing.

Thx for the posts.  I have already headed on over to monoprice.com and purchased my CL2.  Now comes the fun part...install in insulated wall.  Fish Tape Anyone?  Anyone?
