So, anybody chompin at the bit for season 5 of the wire to come out? I got so hooked on that show, and I finished season 4 months ago. As far as I know, 5 is coming soon...Can't wait really. HBO really holds it down with their programming. For my money it doesn't get much better then an episode of The Wire, or Six Feet Under...

Oh man Patrick...You gotta see it. It took a lot of pleading on the part of my friend David to get me to watch it. It didn't sound that interesting at first. I figured it was just another undercover cop show which seems to have been done to death. All it took was a few episodes to reel me in. I love the fact that it focuses on all aspects of crime and police/politics in a larger city. It shows younger kids and the way this environment influences them, to drug dealers and the ways that they get caught up in this lifestyle, up to cops and crooked elected officials. It's all there without pulling punches, and it doesn't seem like a huge stretch to say that it is an accurate portrayal.

Only 2 episodes left to watch of Season 5, the last season...

Love/hate would be a little strong...I'd say love/mildly dislike would sum it up this last season. I really like how much they focus on political infastructure and all of the posturing that goes on within it. I also like how they really focused on local news media's role in in all in Season 5 as well.The plot seemed a little off the wall...Felt like it was reaching a bit too much. But who knows?

All in all I'm going to be sad to see it end...

In the meantime my roomate is trying to get me back into Lost. I liked seasons 1 & 2, gave up after what I felt was a disappointing season 3, and am now starting 4. We'll see...Also re-watching Twin Peaks with a friend of mine. What a brilliant show.
