So you're open to discuss it? What a trooper!

And, Scottiemon I might have meant a backpack or something. I didn't but I might have :-)

    Thanks for playing along!

If you can't have fun doing it, it's probably not worth doing.

    Re: Headphone reccomendations

In a former life I worked at the Guitar Center selling recording equipment. This gave me the chance to sample multiple brands of headphones from Sennheiser to Beyer. Honestly for the money AT or Audio Technica has some seriously impressive gear. For 25 to 40 percent less than similar items of different manufacturers AT delivered comparable performance across the board. If you have the chance give them a listen. You are correct on Bose. I have an NDL in place but they mark up more than you would think.

Not sure how your brother will use his phones but if he is looking for something that will travel well then look at the clip ons from Bang and Olufsen. I am an avid snowboarder and I was seriously impressed with how well these lasted considering how many face plants and lawn sales I have had. Pick them up out of the snow, blow them off and continue listening. Apple store has them for like 156 if I am not mistaken. Lost mine on an airplane. I do plan on replacing with exactly the same.

    Re: Headphone reccomendations

Just wanted to tell everyone thanks. My brother ended up getting the Sennheiser HD 595's. They just came today. They are fantastic. I really like how airy the sound is. Very high quality. Some of the best headphones I've ever heard. He's really glad he came to me. And I'm really glad I came here for some suggestions. Thanks everyone.

    David,

Did you change your hair?  Using a different conditioner?  Nice!

    Re: Headphone reccomendations

Hey this may be a bit of a stretch as they are rather expensive $400. And as we all know while moster is high quality it is grossly overpriced and for the most part unnecessary. However they just started selling a pair of headphones with a seperate amp powered by batteries. So while its a downside that it requires batters to work. Aparently the review on these are quite astonding.

also as a side not you not only pay for the monster name, you pay for dre... :(

Here's the comments I was thinking of, doesn't sound too good.  Note that he said they sounded great at the store before he bought them.
