    Home Theater comes to fruition

After six months planning our home theater is finally finished. We had to reclaim the room from the kids who have gone off to college. Their only question is: why didn't we do this sooner.

    The equipment specifics areas follows:

    •         6T tower speakers
    •         6C center speaker
    •         5DB Surrounds
    •         Bravus 12D subwoofer
    •         58" Panasonic TH-58PZ850U
    •         Panasonic BD-30 Blu-Ray player
    •         Onkyo TX-NR906
    •         Berkline Home Theater recliners

Weare very pleased with how the room has come together.  Though the room set up was not ideal for thegoal having four chairs across in a single row, the sound and feel of the roomturned out awesome.  Even our dog enjoysthe room, albeit for different reasons.

    Hi Andy,

    Welcome to the Aperion experience.

    Is everything hooked-up and functioning?

I must say that is a very fine setup you have there.

I am sure you will get many years of enjoyment from that system.

I don’t remember seeing anything on this forum that looks quite so elegant.

It must have taken a lot of work and patience to get it right.

Where did you hide the Sub, behind the couch?

What do you think of the Aperion’s with your Onkyo?

Thanks for the pictures. Most people don’t bother.

Thank you for the kind words.

Yes, everything is hooked-up and functioning great.

We placed the sub-woofer off to the right of the right front speaker.  You can really feel the impact the sub-woofer makes at key points in movies.  It's clear and precise without being over-bearing or muddy.  You really get to feel or experience a movie rather than just 'watch' it.

We also like the paring of the Aperion speakers and Onkyo receiver, though we never did any side-by-side comparions with other receivers.  We did a lot of internet research over many months, and read every review we could find before settling on the Onkyo.  We think it does an excellent job with Aperions.  It's more than we need, but part of the fun is having the extra features to play with.

We did take the opportunity to visit the Aperion showroom in Portland, since we lived close enough.  We listened to each speaker set in turn, starting with the smallest and finishing with the 6Ts, and should have stopped at the first ones that sounded good which would have been the 4Ts. Unfortunately for our checking account, we could hear the improvement right up their line.  After having listened the 6Ts, we did not want to go and settle for 2nd best.

We are very happy with how it all turned out.

That sounds great that you didn't want to settle for 2nd best.  That just makes me feel better about selecting the 6Ts as well since I was not able to audition the 4Ts or 5Ts.  And seriously with the size and weight of the boxes and speakers, I am NOT going to be returning these any time soon.  I had to pick them up myself from the Fedex facility because I was not going to be home all the days they were going to deliver.  Getting it into the car was easy, but trying to lift these things just a few steps up my porch and into the house almost killed me.  LOL.  The only thing keeping me alive was the thought of finally getting to hear these beautiful speakers.  :)  And it was definitely worth the effort.

I'm glad the hear that the sub sounds great too.  I love bass and I must admit, without turning the 6Ts up really loud, the bass is inadequate for me.  I'm trying to not mess with the EQ so I get the best, natural sound out of the speakers.  I have a sub, but it seems that the 8" Cambridge Soundworks computer sub that I have really doesn't have enough oomp.  I might have fried it too, not sure as it sounded better/louder when I first hooked it up.

Anyhow, I'm glad you're enjoying your new setup and the room looks great!
