It's certainly no 3:10 to Yuma, but it’s watchable.  From the previews, I had anticipated more action sequences, but no so.  The acting was wonderful though.  A decent rent especially considering the lack of westerns produced.  Not a keeper.

    Dan,

I liked Appaloosa but if you don’t like western you might not like it. I actually bought it and I will watch it again. My favorite western though is Unforgiven. Since you already rented it, watch it and give us your opinion.

I like westerns. I thought Unforgiven was an excellent movie. But Appaloosa was crapola! Also 3:10 to Yuma was a crappy remake of the original starring Glenn Ford, The original was excellent. It seems for the most part any time Hollywood remakes a film they ruin it.

Let's not forget 10,000 BC. A total waste of electricity to run this movie.

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.  Worst Indiana Jones movie of all time...anyone want to buy it from me for cheap? BTW Eagle Eye isn't so bad.  The family and I watched again last night.
    24 hours in a day ... 24 beers in a case ... coincidence?

Interesting that you liked Eagle Eye, but not Indiana Jones.  I personally liked both of them, and for the same reason.  To me, they were both frivolous entertainment, little more.

Just watched "What Just Happened". This movie will make you ask what just happened to the last 1hr 45min of your life. Yes I understand it is a movie about making movies, and yes I did recognise all the big stars. It still sucked!

You got that right. Since I got my home theater setup, I joined Netflix. I get 3 movies at a time, so I am able to watch a movie almost every night and let my tell you, Hollywood puts out alot of CRAP. About 95% of what comes out of Hollywood is garbage, the next 2.5% is good and the last 2% is really good, the last .5% are great. I have found alot of Russian, French, Chinese movies that are really good. Look to Independent and foreign movies for some good stuff. Also, I have seen alot of so called Oscar winners that suck. As far as I'm concerned the Oscars are just for all the people that make movies to tell each other what geniuses they are, when the truth is anything but that.

Indeed there are a lot of lame movies these days.  I have a Netflix account too, and find myself watching TV shows on DVD (mostly HBO) just as often as movies.  Yeah, the Oscars are pretty worthless in terms of an indication of quality, some years I don't even watch them and when I do it's mostly just for entertainment value.

On a more positive note, if you haven't seen Coraline in the theater yet I highly recommend it, the 3-D effects are pretty incredible.

OK, you didn't like War, Inc. I have one worse than that.................August Rush.................I know it got 4 out of 5 stars at Netflix. But my daughter, my wife and I watched this wreck. Thats 2 girls in the crowd. The vote from all three of us was to hunt down all people involved in making this P.O.S. and beat them with sticks.........................!!!!! We would have done it too, except that after the movie was over it was 11:00 PM, and we were tired, so we went to bed. Uggh terrible movie.

Here's another waste of time.............. Rachel Getting Married. There was talk at the Oscar's about the fine performance's in this. If you have any trouble falling asleep at night, just pop this in the DVD player. The performance's are better than ANY narcotic.

D'oh, Netflix is shipping this to me today!

Oh well, I'm a huge TV on the Radio fan so I'd like to see it anyway just to see Tunde Adepimbe's acting debut.

Plus watching a chick flick with my wife gets me even more points if it turns out to be lame.  Geeked
