Part of the mounting bracket secures to the speaker itself and then "rests" on the matching wall attachment. The speakers lean slightling downward after the attachment is made. The only part of the speaker resting on your wall will be the bottom two rubber bumpers. I can crank my system up pretty loud, and I feel little or no vibration on the wall. Any size sub is more of a concern than surround speaker vibration, but then again, I do not live in an apartment. Darn neighbors, ugh!
